Anyone here ever been to Curacao?

Thinking of going in Februrary. I hear it's one of the most gay-friendly of the Carribean islands. But then I also read on a travel blog that it's not safe to go out on your own at night. Would love to hear some comments from anyone who's been there.

• I like blue Curacao in my drinky-poos. It makes them festive. The island is Dutch, but don't expect it to be anything like Amsterdam. For gay life in the "Carib", it's Key West or San Juan (both in the US) the rest is very limited.

• Horrible! Don't go OP. Spend your money pretty much anywhere else! My partner and I fled to Miami 2 days into an 8 day vacation. It's dirty, and scary.

• A friend of mine went there and came down with a virus that ended up doing severe damage to her heart. Her physicians thought she may end up needing a heart transplant but she recovered through her medications.

• Do a forum search - VOTN was there, and if I recall. It is probably the gay-friendliest Caribbean island.

• I thought that was St. Barths, R7.

• Lots of scenic oil refineries.
