Lisa Whelchel's sumptuous feasting continues...
Previous thread maxed out at 599. The last post there was a scan of her People magazine article which notes internet speculation that the cause of her divorce might have been her husband Steve's sexual orientation or her demanding personality. She could be flakey sometimes in her blog posts, but I don't think she came across as demanding.
- I can totally see her as demanding. Lisa's personality is to create an image. She creates the best image for the public. When she's around those she's closest to, the image falls away and there you have a demanding personality. She values what you do, not what you are and those types of people can be very demanding.
However, I also agree that's not the case. Her husband is a flamer.
- You know her, R1? Do tell!
- Clearly r1 does NOT know her.
- Remember the controversial blog post where she answered a mother's letter thinking her son was gay? In it (I don't have the link right now), she mentions it is totally normal for a boy to not express interest in girls or date as a teenager, and she cited her own husband as an example.
- Lisa should have gotten this for Steve

- Faskinatin'
- She probably demanded sex.

- Merci!
- After reading all 600 posts in the previous thread, and both People magazine articles, I love her more than ever.
- Can someone give me a quick rundown of the 600 posts on the previous thread? I missed it in real time and don't have the energy to read through it. Basically, do we hate her for being a fundie? Or do we not? TIA!!!
- Not anymore. She has evolved.
- We still love her, and she doesn't believe in praying to god to help win sports games or Survivor.

Here goes:
She sure is tacky, and she sure embraces her dull, middle-class, devoutly Christian, middle American existence. Her ambitions are limited, and she has an incredibly tiny worldview. On the other hand, we have to love her because she was Blair on 'The Facts of Life,' plus she seems to have faint glimmerings of awareness there's more to life than the banal suburban world she constantly talks about.

- If she tearfully declares that "this show is too big for me" one more time, I'm going to pass out. She basically invented a new character for her Survivor gig.
- What is she selling?
- Dirty panties
- this week's PEOPLE
- Oh, no. Lisa has a meltdown when her brother, Justice, visits. She'd hit "rock bottom."

- ...maybe she doesn't really belong on survivor...
- Carter's mouth is just so disturbing to me.
Abi's a bitch, but the "with relatives" challenge was not fair to her, because her mom is overweight and out of shape and all the other relatives are not.
- Oops, I put my Survivor comment in the wrong Lisa thread. Sorry!

- Let's talk about Macum now!

- [quote]Easy-going Lisa has adopted the motto “take the good, take the bad,” from her old TV show, but the harrowing incident frightened her family and friends, said an insider.
[quote]“Since Lisa has been back in the spotlight with ‘Survivor,’ she has been getting crazy mail, and there’s always the fear that some nutcase might be trying to get to her,” explained the insider.
[quote]“She’s getting popular again, but fame comes with a lot of headaches. And since she’s still very attractive and divorced, she’s going to get a lot of attention. In the wake of this latest mishap, friends are telling her, ‘Next time, take a plane!’”
