US slams Israel's decision to expand settlements
It's about goddamn time. How about the U.S. also cutting off foreign aid to Israel too for its defiant, war-mongering move on land that isn't theirs?

- Why is Israel against following the rules? How much land do they need? I just don't get it. A deal was made. End of story.
- Countdown to the nasty resident jews and their apologists to defend Israel's actions. Let's hope Hamas does what they do best and terrorize those settlers into leaving.
So sick of Israel.
- Why don't the Arabs/"Palestinians" move away and get on with their lives?
- They were there first, R3.
- Yeah, somewhere like Florida.

- The Israelis don't want peace. They want to be terrorized so they can cry about it. Masochists.
- Netanyahu has repeatedly demonstrated he has no interest in any peace process. He would rather relentlessly bully and intimidate Palestinians. I'll be charitable by not going so far as suggesting he'd like to exterminate them, but that takes a lot of charity on my part.
I completely agree with OP. Reduce American foreign aid to Israel or at least attach heavy conditions to it.
I was outraged that my tax dollars were supporting Netanyahu's latest aggression in Gaza, went to whitehouse.gov and expressed my opinion in the online form. I suggest that other Americans who agree with me do the same.
- [quote]"We're going to be evenhanded in our concern about any actions that are provocative, any actions that make it harder to get these two parties back to the table."
That's a "slam"? Really? Sounds like typical Obama admin p.c. bullshit.
- Another antisemitic thread. Shock.
- R3, the fact that you put Palestinians in quotation marks as though your ignorant ass has a right to tell people you don't know from a place you've never lived that they have no right there is precisely why most of the world thinks Pro-Israelis are either liars or idiots.
- R9: Outside of R2, which post is antisemitic?
- Oh please, r11 - any other country would have to hold the "Baby-Fucking Olympics" in order to garner half as much outrage from you lot as Israel does for the horrifying crime of building some houses.
- Netanyahu is a real problem. He takes US welfare, and bullies our president around, not to mention backed Mitt Romney, a man who said that he wanted to kick the can down the road when it came to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Obama goes and says the same thing Bush did, and because the shvartz said it, all hell breaks lose. Israel is given the moral high ground in all of this.
Again, why won't Israel stop expanding settlements? How on Earth do they justify this?
- I doubt you'll find many Jews here defending Netanyahu, especially in this case.
P.S. Calling the decision "counterproductive" hardly seems like "slamming" to me.
- LIkewise r14 i don't think anyone here will defend expanding the settlements, which is the state using the most rabid fundies as bulwarks.
r6 the israelis have always wanted peace with the palestinians. The problem is the palestinians want peace without Israel.
I'm unaware of any palestinian organization that seeks peace with israel.
- [quote][R6] the israelis have always wanted peace with the palestinians.
The Israeli government doesn't. There's a difference.
- Actually, the Israelis have always wanted peace withOUT the Palestinians.
That's been their problem, how to get rid of all the human riff-raff taking up space in Zion. Can't kill them all (anymore), can't stick everyone in the West Bank in an open air prison like they did with Gaza, can't cleanse then all to Jordan. Well, maybe they can't...
Best to make life so fucking miserable for the Palestinians that they don't reproduce and/or flee their own land to whatever country they can. Another option is to reduce their living spaces to tiny, easily controllable Bantustans, which is achievable. And is being achieved. Keep taking what little they have in the mean time. And keep off the airwaves of the American media, who are happy to help with this project regardless.
- How is r2 anti-semetic? He/she is right. Hamas is to be applauded for their rocket attacks and suicide bombs. At least they have the courage to fight back against Israeli terrorism.
- Ok, let's see.
The Palestinian Authority refuses to recognize Israel's right to exist.
Hamas says Israel has no right to exist.
How does one make peace with that?
Mind you, the current borders of most of the countries in the Mideast were set in 1920 by the British and the French.
- Hamas is right.

The nerve of some people.
