Flintstones Chewable Vitamins
Anyone still take these? I've heard many adults still take them, as do I. They actually taste really good. I didn't know that they went back to the 1960s. Do kids even know who the hell The Flintstones are today?
- We use to take these vitamins called Chauks..
Now you can take vitamins that are like gummy bears
- Chocks...
- "I didn't know that they went back to the 1960s."
You obviously did not read Chapter 23 in your History of Vitamins book.
The Alpha-Bits Kid
- Flintstones are delicious and I love the gritty, chalky aftertaste.
- The Flinstones are an interesting case. Kids surely know them as a marketing device (Fruity Pebbles; vitamins) but can't imagine many in the current generation known the cartoon.
- There's no Betty though. Wilma, but no Betty. Just one more example of the patriarchy keeping down the systerhood.

- Do St. Joseph pills still exist? I think they're baby aspirin, but we ate them as candy along with the Flintstones vitamins. Delicious. Tart, chalky, nice little punch of flavor.
- Anyone remember Pals vitamins? All I remember is they were multi-colored and shaped like amimals and were also around in the 70s. The pink ones tasted best. I couldn't tell you which animals were what though. I think there was a dog, a cat, maybe a dinosaur, an elephant and owl?

There is:
For over twenty years, Betty was not included as one of the vitamins. However, after a grassroots campaign and the results of a Bayer telephone poll came in favor of including Betty, the character was added to the lineup, replacing the Flintstone car.

- Where is Gazoo?
-
How about Joe Rockhead or Arnold the paper boy?
- I take the Gummy Bear type chewables.

Pals!
One of them was a fish. I think the purple one.

- I used ate these when I was little. My mom made me stop when I was eating 4-5 a day because they were so yummy.

- R15 should say: I used to eat...

- I loved Pals and blamed Flintstones for their demise. I even bought the Pals tie in book and record featuring Captain Kangaroo. "We are pals, pals are we, when we're together it's fun you see!"
- Centrum makes an adult version that tastes the same
- I love VitaFusion's regular gummy vitamins, Vitamin C, and Fiber Gummies. Their calcium and omega3 gummies, however, are awful. I'd rather just swallow the pills.
- r18 obviously doesn't understand that the real deliciousness comes from the mental association with youth forged across an entire lifetime of conspicuous consumption. Duh.
- R17, you were precisely the type if youth to whom toy and candy manufacturers wanted to target their products.

Yes r14. That was the pink one and it looked like an Angelfish because of its big upper and lower fins. There was a green turtle too that I remember now.

Me, too.
It's amazing a whole generation of kids weren't lost to deadly GI bleeds.

- Are Carter's Little Liver pills still around?
- Yabba dabba doo
Yabba dabba doo
Flintstones vitamins are goood to chew
- They were yummy but I preferred Bayer orange flavored baby aspirin.
- [quote]Are Carter's Little Liver pills still around?
Yes, minus the "liver". The active ingredient is the same as in Dulcolax and Correctol.
- [quote]We use to take these vitamins called Chauks[quote]
Had welfare momma who couldn't afford name brands
- Of course St Joseph Aspirin is still around. Are you too retarded to go to Walgreens or simply google for it?
Aspirin isn't given to kids as it gives them Autism or Assburgers or Rye Syndrome or something
- Jesus [R31] Take a pill. or eat shit fuckface.
- I used to eat chalk when I was a child, that's why I LOVE Flinstones vitamins! It's good for you, and it doesn't upset your stomach.
- I don't remember taking vitamins as a kid. My father was in the pharmaceutical business in the '60's. He thought everything was a marketing gimmick and insurance companies were going to wreck healthcare as we knew it.
He%20was%20correct.
- I still take Flintstones... they changed the formula about 2 years ago but they are still pretty tasty and I like them.
- I loved them when I was a kid, especially the purple (grape flavor) ones.
I always used to wonder what would happen if you ate a whole bottle in one sitting. Would you get sick? Or would it just be like eating too much candy?
- Good work r30, you sniffed out someone who may have been in a lower socioeconomic class at one point. Gotta keep reminding those poor types of their place!
- My mother only bought us Pals or Flintstones when we went shopping with her. Mom was doped up on Vitamin V every time she had to take us kids to the grocery store with her so we usually got whatever we wanted.
She thought we were getting enough vitamins in our King Vitamin cereal (the "healthy" alternative to Cap'n Crunch and it used to make my gums bleed!)
- [quote]King Vitamin cereal (the "healthy" alternative to Cap'n Crunch and it used to make my gums bleed!)
Poster never brushed his teeth
- I challenge any of you to eat a bowl of cap'n crunch and tell me your mouth isn't wounded in some way...
- Why don't they make all pics with a nice chewy coating like Flintstones vitamins?
- I was concerned that my poop was green and the doctor quickly deduced it was from the dye used in my breakfast cereal(Crunchberries).
- I had the exact same problem as you, after eating them, r42.
- I had Looney Tunes vitamins during the same time period I took Flinstones. Likely from the same company because they looked and tasted exactly the same, albeit with different characters.
