• At one point when my partner was between jobs he took a temp position with UPS. He was initially hired to be one of 'ride along' folks to assist the driver with the heavy load of December packages. But he did well on the test-drive on interview day, and he got his own package car (the internal term for the trucks). He also got 3 sets of uniforms (including the shorts) in the 8 months he was with the company. He had a 'regular' shift -- meeting the plane at Dulles at 5am and delivering the 'early am' packages (guaranteed delivery before 10:30am). He would be back home around 11am done with work for the day. It's been 10 years since he had that temp job, but the uniforms still fit.
