Mayor Rob Ford is expected to quickly launch an appeal after a Toronto judge found him guilty of contravening conflict of interest rules and has ordered that the mayor be immediately removed from office. The judge's ruling doesn't take effect for 14 days. The decision by Judge Charles Hackland, issued on Monday morning, found that Ford contravened the city’s conflict of interest rules and as a result must be removed from his elected position. The mayor was accused of not declaring a conflict of interest when he participated in a council vote that recommended he repay money donated to his football foundation. He was accused of soliciting the money using official city letterhead.
