Anna Wintour - never attended university, can't write and she has a moustache.
Joe Mantello as a director.
Jesse Jackson, Jr.
Oh dear. Conservatives are so fucking stupid.
Liz & Dick
Thank you, R32 - I've been saying that for years.
La Paltrow and her father and mother.
Za Za Gabor
Thank you R42, I remember being in a support group when someone went on and on about The Secret. The premise of the book is you get back from the universe what you put out. How simple minded, by that theory, everyone who got AIDS deserved what they got because they brought it on them self with their negative thinking. Boy did I get the dirty looks.
Palin and Trump are the Prom Queen and King of this thread.
Probably not *quite* as deserving of this title as the Fifty Shades "books," but worthy of an honorable mention: the bestsellers written by Dan Brown.
All of the Real Housewives, and the A list too.
I couldn't agree more with R32 !!!!!
The Republican Party
Andrew Lloyd Weber
the Human Rights Campaign
The European Union
r21, I think Madonna is more famous than successful and r28, I was going to put ronnie reegin but you beat me to it. Somebody else posted "dubya" but I will repeat it here as it deserves another mention. R41, I think Paris Hilton never even finished high school, she had all the Hilton millions to fall back on. BTW, can anyone tell me how the Hilton who married Elizabeth Taylor figures in with those related to her? Isn't it a great uncle or something?
Paxil, Effexor and Welbutrin
well, pretty much any religion
R60 = pathetic, projecting fool
Can someone explain how certain books like DaVinci Code and 50 Shades of Gray become such phenomenons? Is it just marketing, word of mouth?
"According to Jim."
"The Bridges of Madison County" (novel)
As someone else mentioned, January Jones.
Probably a little of both r64; these kinds of books take on a life of their own if enough of the right kooky people read them and "spread the word" to make it take on a cultish kind of "fashionableness", as it were. Someone at work lent me a copy of "The Da Vinci Code" which I read in 2 days and thougt it was trash but the one who lent it to me fancied himself a "dedicated follower of fashion" of the avante garde variety.
Has NO ONE said TWILIGHT!?
(they may have, and I just skimmed too lightly.)
About 97% of all popular music solo artists in history.
Many things, actually, and increasingly so!!!
most if not all reality TV
her friend Mariska Hargitay
The OP said "wildly successful", R69. Obamacare is a mess that's hated by morons on the right for the wrong reasons and by thinking people of the center and left because it's doomed to fail and with it the hopes of real health insurance reform.
I always defend JJ of Mad Men (but only on Mad Men). I think she plays Betty Draper remarkably well, especially those first few seasons.
[quote]I think Madonna is more famous than successful.
What does that even mean? I'm not even a Madonna fan, but she's obviously very successful.
The Star Wars franchise
Comic book superhero movies
Lord of the Rings
Michelle Bachmann......and yes
