Why do I not like David Gregory on Meet the Press?

He always seems like he's not taking things nearly as seriously as he should, but that's not quite it either. He's perfectly likable and smart but he doesn't seem to ever connect with what's underneath anything he's addressing. That's it. He's superficial, even moreso than most network news folks. Or comes off that way. Thanks. I figured it out.

• I know people who work with him at NBC in DC. They say he's an S.O.B. -- the WORST!

• He's smug and he has a penchant for the "gotcha" questions. He isn't terribly bright either. He pretends to be balanced and he isn't.

• Because he looks like a horse?

• David Gregory and Chuck Todd -- NBC News' two chinless wonders.

• R7, thou hast said it! Chuck Todd, David Gregory are the two people on NBC I cannot stand. I mean I really cannot stand them. Ugh. I can't imagine people actually care about them. Don't know which one is worse. I hate them both.

• Gregory was openly rude to Hillary Clinton on the news during an interview in 2008. He was the one I thought was not part of the gang at NBC/MSNBC that was against her, but nooooo.

• Bring back Tim Russert. His decaying corpse could do a better job than David Gregory.

• I don't like him either OP. SOmething is off about him and he's not a good host for "serious" show like Meet the Press

• David Gregory and Chuck Todd and occasionally Andrea Mitchell are right wing shills. I don't like Luke Russert either and I hate the way everyone on The Cycle fawns over him when he makes an appearance. He's not that interesting or important.

I never quite understood the great appeal of him either. Then I sat across from him in a restaurant. "In life," he's extremely handsome, charismatic and - while I don't think he was really making a move and I'm not saying he meant anything by it, for all I know he's completely straight and faithful to his wife - highly flirtatious in the way very powerful men sometimes are.
