Why do I not like David Gregory on Meet the Press?
He always seems like he's not taking things nearly as seriously as he should, but that's not quite it either. He's perfectly likable and smart but he doesn't seem to ever connect with what's underneath anything he's addressing.
That's it. He's superficial, even moreso than most network news folks. Or comes off that way.
Thanks. I figured it out.
I know people who work with him at NBC in DC. They say he's an S.O.B. -- the WORST!
Details, R1! Specific examples!
He's smug and he has a penchant for the "gotcha" questions. He isn't terribly bright either. He pretends to be balanced and he isn't.
Because he looks like a horse?
Because he has a face that looks like it should be behind bars at a zoo?
Has anyone seen him naked at the NBC gym?
David Gregory and Chuck Todd -- NBC News' two chinless wonders.
R7, thou hast said it!
Chuck Todd, David Gregory are the two people on NBC I cannot stand. I mean I really cannot stand them. Ugh. I can't imagine people actually care about them. Don't know which one is worse. I hate them both.
Gregory was openly rude to Hillary Clinton on the news during an interview in 2008. He was the one I thought was not part of the gang at NBC/MSNBC that was against her, but nooooo.
Bring back Tim Russert. His decaying corpse could do a better job than David Gregory.
Ever notice that at the beginning of Meet the Press, Gregory announces the agenda & and guests in a high-pitched teeniebopper voice?
Besides the superficiality and horse face, there's that blow-dried, ultra-lacquered hair helmet. He inherited Ann Miller's hair.
[quote] He inherited Ann Miller's hair.
But he can't dance.
3.5" in philtrum, looks simian.
His muzzle looks like Homer's.
When he was an intern at a Northern College station, he was so brash that he announced his first day "I'm going to put some spark in this place!"
Folks there still call him Sparky.
DG kind of pings for me. Do you think he's gay? If so, I wonder if he's sammpled some of the A-list hotties in DC -- Timothy Geithner, Rahm Emmanuel, Paul Ryan, etc.?
Can't stand Gregory or Todd.
He's very smug and self satisfied. He's certainly no Walter Cronkite or even a Dan Rather. He's a third rate Katie Couric at best.
First in the make up chair and last one to leave it each day- direct from the horse's mouth- pun intended- as I work there....and he does alot more than PING- trust me- this girl is hardly closeted.......
Hideous human being.
Why do people think Rahm Emmanuel is a hottie? He reminds me of Mr. Burns on The Simpsons: all gray and sallow with a permanent, dead-eyed leer that says, "I could have you killed."
He remind me of Kermit the Frog--and not in a good way.
[quote]he does alot more than PING
What does he do?? More details, R19!
I think Rahm is hot, wiry stud and a top.
The reason is ATTITUDE, stories from the steam room
I don't like him either OP.
SOmething is off about him and he's not a good host for "serious" show like Meet the Press
David Gregory and Chuck Todd and occasionally Andrea Mitchell are right wing shills. I don't like Luke Russert either and I hate the way everyone on The Cycle fawns over him when he makes an appearance. He's not that interesting or important.
Makeup insider in 1A, tell us how he more than pings!
He doesn't seem to report serious news, seriously.
He seems detached and unaffected.
Ah ... The Cycle ... home of Girl Wonder! (no, NOT Steve Kornacki!)
Gregory is just plain obnoxious. Todd was good in '08, but now ... he's openly hostile; I've mentioned his on-air (momentary though it was) spat with Matthews.
He's a conservative, darlin'.
What was the spat about?
Todd couldn't help acknowledging that Obama was ahead, so he snarled at Matthews "but your guy Critz in PA is GOIN' DOWN!" in a very unprofessional nyah-nyah manner.
Um, can we get more details on DG being on the DL, please?
DG must like to dance. He dances every time he get an excuse to.
He is married with children.
"Why do people think Rahm Emmanuel is a hottie? He reminds me of Mr. Burns on The Simpsons: all gray and sallow with a permanent, dead-eyed leer that says, "I could have you killed.""
I never quite understood the great appeal of him either. Then I sat across from him in a restaurant. "In life," he's extremely handsome, charismatic and - while I don't think he was really making a move and I'm not saying he meant anything by it, for all I know he's completely straight and faithful to his wife - highly flirtatious in the way very powerful men sometimes are.
He's a member of the Tea Party...right?
He is the anti-Tim Russert. I can't stand his smug attitude.
He ruined MTP.
