Did Many Women Born In The Early 1900s Ever Experience An Actual Orgasm?

Considering the ideas surrounding sex, the female body, and a woman's role in society, do you think many women died without ever experiencing an actual orgasm? People weren't even aware of the role of the clitoris. A lot of women just had sex for their husband's pleasure. Women didn't want to be deemed a whore. So do you think many women, our grandmothers (shudder), never experienced a real orgasm? Kinda sad.

• I believe that some of them at least might have experienced that. I think that in each period, pleasure in sex is achievable for both sexes. Even in the early 1900! Conservatism doesn't mean that a woman couldn't enjoy sex, just because she couldn't speak of it. An actual orgasm is about chemistry and not about a reasonable point of view.

• A lot of straight men do suck in bed, unfortunately, as American men are not really comfortable with women and do not really like them. They were also getting pregnant repeatedly thanks to no birth control. Sex had real consequences for them. I was raised Catholic and taught nothing about sex (except that it's something that's only supposed to occur between one man and one woman who have been married in the Catholic church). I had no idea what I was doing, I didn't connect it to anything "sexual," especially since I had no idea what sex was; and I thought I was the only one in the world who had discovered it.
