I was the oddest bit of casting ever. Melanie just radiates dumbness throughout.
When I saw it years ago I thought how odd to have such a good actor like Neeson with this woman-girl who can only simper her way through a drama. Also the Vanessa Redgrave daughter acted circles around her. What an odd mix.
Remember during the press for the movie Melanie said something like: I never realized how many people died in the Holocaust...I thought it was just a few hundred or so.
Liam Neeson was hot for a Nazi. Doesn't happen that often, hot Nazis.
Didn't Griffith also once play an undercover cop living in a Hasidim (Hasidic?) neighborhood?
She has terrible taste. Is she actually a bit slow? I've always wondered.
"A Stranger Among Us" was the movie you're thinking of where she plays a NYC cop who goes undercover in the Hasidic community.
It's hilarious. She's really really bad.
Amazingly enough, Sidney Lumet directed! What were they all thinking?
