Dialects And Idiolects

An idiolect is "a variety of language that is unique to a person, as manifested by the patterns of vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation that he or she uses". A dialect is the variety of language that is specific to an entire group. What are key features of your dialect? What idiosyncratic language would your friends immediately recognize as one of your personal (idiolectal) quirks?

• Dialect: people stand ON LINE not "in" it! Ideolect: closest I can come up with is that in our family the term "bobo" meant feces, so it sounds funny to hear it in a Hispanic usage meaning "fool" or "idiot".
