SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (KTLA) -- A Massachusetts man could be facing child endangerment charges after he allegedly left his girlfriend's 2-year-old son in the car while he shopped. Police were alerted by store security at a K-Mart in Springfield around 1:30 a.m. Friday that a toddler was asleep in a parked car. Officers forced their way into the car and took the boy to the hospital as a precaution. Anthony Perry, 34, man was later confronted at his home, telling officers that he lost the boy while shopping and called a friend for a ride for himself and his new 51-inch flat screen television. Police say Perry did not report the boy missing. The boy's mother, Perry's girlfriend, was working at the time and Perry was supposed to be babysitting. The man has not been arrested, but police say he may be charged with reckless endangerment.
