The Commitments (1991)

Re-reading the 'Fame' thread made me think of this. I think Alan Parker was trying to create another 'feel-good' musical movie. For some reason it made me cringe, though. Maybe because it was so horribly heterosexual. Lots of grim looking 'lads' having a 'wacky' musical time (see pic @ link), while they take a break from watching football. Actually, I'm not even sure I saw the whole movie, even the preview made me feel sick.
