Ann Coulter... why?

Rather than derail the most despised thread, does anybody know anything about this harpy? Personally, I don't believe she believes most of the shit she spouts. She's a carnival performer. What I wonder is, where did come from? What happened to her that what she does and the things she says seem to her an acceptable way to earn a living? Nancy Grace, who is no Ann Coulter, obviously, was moved by the murder of her fiance. That took her into prosecution and eventually onto television. Anybody know, what launched Ann Coulter? She's yucky but it must be asked.
