Man arrested for yelling 'Santa isn’t real' at Santa Parade

An hour into the city’s Santa Parade on Saturday, as Christmas-themed floats slowly travelled down the street, the voice of a man yelling at startled children that Santa Claus doesn’t exist was heard over the crowd. Police arrested arrested a 24-year-old man around 6 p.m. “It was pretty despicable that someone, during this time of the year, would tell kids Santa isn’t real — which of course we would argue,” Const. Steve Koopman said.

• It's more despicable that we just arrested someone for telling the truth. Yes, I love kids and their myths and actively participate, but the bottom line is that it's a lie; dickhead or not, it was wrong for this guy to get arrested.

• I friend of mine was arrested for yelling at Marie Osmond when she was in the Macy's parade. I don't recall his exact words, but he basically called her out for divorcing her husband.

• Imagine yelling something similar in a Baptist church about another mythological being.

• Now that's my kinda guy. Send him to Wal Mart and give him the store speaker.
