Gay-married and last names

If you get gay-married, how would you handle the last names? If you are gay-married, how do you handle them?

• I'd take his last name. Mine isn't real anyway.

• My last name would make a wonderfully snooty addition to any last name. It has a stray silent 'e' that throws a number of people.

• We both kept our last names (for professional reasons) but our kids have a hyphenate of both. It's worked out great for the last 12 years.

• "Fuck you and your bourgeois, patriarchal concerns" is a viable option for any poll posed on DL.

• The Bottom takes the Tops last name.

• Mr. and Mr. Smith-Jones-Splendora-Davis-Crawford-Bouvier-Streep-Streisand, thank you very much.

• Keep your own last names.

• She took mine.

• R3, I've always wondered what happens if two people with hyphenated last names get married, keep their names, and then have their own kids. What kind of hyphenated last name do those kids end up with? Is there some sort of protocol to follow?

• If he has a very ethnic name, we'd probably stick with mine.

• Keep your own last names, and I firmly believe that women should keep their own last names too. Too many straight men would never accept that, though.
