Freepers politicizing everything under the sun
So the Fab Five (remember them?) finally have the standard visit to the White House after winning the team gold in the Olympics gymnastics competition. The Daily Mail has the pictures and some little write up about it. Very benign stuff, you'd think. But, no!
The reader comments sound like some astroturfing operation. Scary part is that they're not. I don't recall the left injecting anti-Bush rhetoric into every imaginable situation...
Get all those smiles in now girls. You'll be crying when you can't find jobs in a few years. Better stay in shape and live that Olympic life into your thirties, it will be your only meal ticket.
Those girls look like they have really put on the pounds. I guess they have all retired and now are living the good life. No more balance beams, floor exercises or vaulting for those gals. Now they get to meet the worst president in US history.

- They do this to every comments section everywhere. A story about a cat possum feeding a litter of kittens? "Look at those black kittens getting something for nothing, you just know they voted 0bummer."
A box with a 90 year old love letter found in a library book? "Just watch this dead guy vote in Chicago for you know who."
A new process for straightening hair? "Well, now I know where all the foodstampers will be spending my tax dollars."
It's pathological.
- Someone please start a thread:
Let's pretend we're paranoid freepers commenting on an innocuous, non-political story online.
"A kitten stuck in a tree? He was probably chased up there by one of Obama's spy drones!!"
- You should read some of the lunatics posting about the Hostess Cupcake factory closing down....these people have lost their minds! Guess who's fault it is????
- I'm so shocked that the trashiest newspaper on earth would attract the lowest-common denominator as commentators.
- Yeah, R1. It's so disheartening. Is this truly their level of reasoning ability or are they just being childishly spiteful? It's embarrassing to read those types of comments in a foreign publication (I know it's the Mail, but the Tories aren't this bad.) Again, I don't recall this kind of loosey goosey vitriol from the left even after Bush and his cronies [italic]stole[/italic] an election. We continued with "make the pie higher" and non-racial chimp jokes.
Another examples from our local paper.
A college freshman disappeared this spring in my city. She had been a driven, high achiever her whole life and was stressed out about her final exams to the point of becoming suicidal (obviously other issues, too) so her parents placed her in a psychiatric facility. She walked away from the facility a few days later and her body was found a couple of months ago hanging from a tree in a thicket of woods by the river.
So sad for so many reasons. The comments were sympathetic to the family. But one guy started out his comments reasonably saying he tries not to put to much pressure on his kid, that it's OK if you don't understand stuff right away, etc., etc. He then launches into a Santorum-like screed unreasonable expectations about going to college and that, basically, here Dem parents were responsible. Ugh!
Another. We huge explosion in the rattlesnake population in the spring that resulted in a lot of bites to dogs being walked. I can't remember exactly how, but one commenter managed to introduce the topic of Democrats in the state legislature and their profligate spending (in California as they were budget-cutting!).
- Here's a good one from the "Theatergoer vomits from balcony" thread article:
Those over paid limousine liberal actors want the audience to give THEM money for their pet charity after they just paid for over priced theatre tickets? Typical. - GG , Beautiful South Carolina, 16/11/2012 22:28
