Lawd this man refuses to shut up. Now throwing Bill Clinton to cause problems on Obama's side.
Hell have no fury for a scorned old racist white man.
We should really wait on this until President Clinton has a comment and exposes Romney as a lying piece of shit, which I'm sure he will. Romney abviously fabricated this story, certain Mr. Clinton would never say anything.
wow, he's really not taking defeat well, is he?
So which state that wasn't going to vote for Obama flipped because of Sandy?
The stuff about Ann at the convention... that just sounds like Clinton flattery, if true.
Now I can't wait for Bill to administer the coup de grace to this pathetic POS.
Next it will be Jimmy Carter and George W. Bush calling him with their input. What a lying sack of shit and a loser.
It would not surprise me if Bill Clinton really did say those things to Mitt. I think Clinton is very in tune with people's feelings, and it would have been his way of saying, "I'm sorry you're a loser..."
At least GWB knew enough to slink away never to be heard from again.
Take a lesson, Mitt!
So the outcome of the election was an act of God then?
God didn't want you to be President, bitch.
After all the campaigning that Bill Clinton did for Obama, I doubt Bill said this or intended it in the way Mitt is saying.
If Bill said even something remotely like this, it must have been more off the cuff like, "Yeah Mitt, you were doing pretty well, and then Huricane Sandy hit..." (and slowed your momentum).
But I do not believe that Bill said Mitt would win. Bill is a whole lot smarter than that. Looking forward to Bill's response.
So the women, Latinos, Asian-Americans, gays, Jews, post-graduates, etc. who voted overwhelmingly for Obama would've just stayed home and not voted if it weren't for Sandy?
Mittens is irrelevant now.
Seriously, the Mitster doesn't have enough to keep him occupied in his "real" life.
Everyone needs to remember that anything Romney says has to be taken within the context that he is a pathological liar. This really may be the case to the point where it is now a mental illness and he can no longer tell truth from reality. That would make some sense considering how he's been acting over recent months.
Also, I enjoyed this from a commenter at HuffPo:
[quote]Clinton is a sly dog....If he can convince the Republicans that all they need to do is have a storm free election season in 2016 without changing any of their policy positions.....the Democrats will walk away with the election again.
didn't axlerod say the exact same thing?
No R16, but your mother should have kept her legs crossed.
If Bill Clinton said that, he's a damn fool...frankly, he is a damn fool.
Clinton probably did say something like that because he is always trying to win approval from men, especially men on the other side.
My partner is a therapist and he called Clinton's personality in 1993. He said, "This guy is the classic abandoned son of alcoholics -- mom is a party girl, dadtansies, new daddy took off, new daddy returned; he is always trying to get mom's man to stick around and give him approval. He is always conciliatory to men who dislike him, yet he wants to win to show them how good he is. He's totally fucked up. He's really going to fuck himself up with this bipartisan bullshit and his little lies to keep everyone happy."
I think Mitt's need to bring this up in the conference call with donors is most pathetic and telling. Clinton was probably conciliatory and nebulous enough for Romney to hear what he wanted to hear. But the great Republican hope is reduced to an "Even Bill says it was Sandy!" type of rationaliztion when facing great and powerful behind the curtain. The kid facing his fathers and pointing the finger of blame everywhere but squarely where it belongs.
"GUYS! Bill Clinton liiiiikes me! He talked to me for a whole thirty minutes!"
Uhhh, he lied his ass off for 7 years trying to get elected - of course he's going to lie to explain why he didn't.
Bill Clinton's response:
"I may not have inhaled those many years ago, but if Goernor Romney is willing to share, I'll definitely inhale now!"
[quote]and of course he also said that when he was watching Ann speak at the Republican convention, he decided he was tempted to join the Republican
Tempted to join the GOP because of Anne's speech? Bullshit!
So what, it was obviously a white lie to sound gracious. I mean, wtf is he supposed to say? Sorry Mitt, you really screwed the pooch and wasted 6 years of your life?
As for Ann, well, at least now she officially knows Bill's available. She's probably never fucked a Democrat.
[quote]"So he may have just been effusive with generous comments as he chatted."
Uh, yeah. Bingo, Mitster. You nailed in the last sentence of that quote. Clinton is ever the charmer. You should not necessarily take at face value everything that the man says.
Uhhhh ... Mitts said it. Obviously it's just another convenient lie-of-the-moment.
When has this man ever said anything that wasn't?
[quote]I think Mitt's need to bring this up in the conference call with donors is most pathetic and telling.
A real leader takes responsibility when things go wrong. A coward who should never be leader makes excuses and fingerpoints, demonstrating to everyone he should never have been allowed in a leadership position in the first place.
Mitt lost because he isn't a leader. Deep down in their collective gut, even conservatives knew this slick huckster had a yellow streak up his back a mile wide.
Good riddance to a candidate whose idea of consistency was being a jellyfish that talks out of both sides of its mouth.
I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out.
R8 and R19 nailed it... This is why Obama has always kept Bill at arms length...it also shows Mitt's guilibility he could never hang with the genuine article Beltway Politician.
Where did he supposedly see or talk to Bill Clinton after the storm? He didn't. Clinton was busy campaigning for President Obama.
mitt is a pathological liar
We didn't let our campaign be dictated by fact-checkers, so we're certainly not going to let our defeat be either.
Oh by the way, Hillary called me too, she said Obama won because of the secret voter fraud in all of the swing states and how she wished that I could have won.
I loathe reality shows. Last one I ever watched was "Real World: Seattle.:
I wish there was a Romney reality show. I could watch that asshole family for hours.
Because she wants me. She says Bill just doesn't have it in him. Or in her.
I prefer to think that Clinton did say it, but intentionally and just to fuck with his head.
I fact, I think Clinton should continue to call him on a weekly basis, and keep telling him things like "You know Mitt, Ryan cost you Wisconsin, you should have picked Christie" and "Man, we thought you had Ohio locked. You should have sent Ann there a couple more times."
In fact, I picture Clinton hanging up with Mitt and instantly calling Obama and telling him every detail of the call while they both roll on the floor laughing.
That's my new line "Bill Clinton called me and said it wasn't my fault"
R38. You funny bitch. Made me laugh. I'm gonna make that my new line too.
For you losers who still think Romney has a shred of sanity - Clinton was on tonight and said he never talked with Shitface at all.
R40 link it please I googled but couldn't find it.
Yes...so far all I can find is the original story, and not the link.
I think the thing that show's Mitt's pathology is that he couldn't just spin the one yarn "President Clinton said he thought I would win," but he had to add in the additional comment about Ann's speech making Clinton want to turn Republican.
If this were another politician, I'd say he'd probably realize a bit down the road that he'd been acting out, and that he'd gone a bit crazy with anger, but I don't think Romney has that capacity. He may end up the scary, crazy old man that the Republicans want to forget about forever.
Even moreso than Dubya.
The last major Republican candidate with any kind of sense of personal responsibility was Bob Dole, who continued to serve in the Senate and as a special envoy, and Viagra ads aside, didn't make you contemplate how seriously nuts he was.
Still no denial yet from Bill Clinton? I notice hasn't mentioned that part on MSNBC.
Maybe because Sandy was a good (and quick) reminder to some voters of how Mitt would handle a disaster given his feelings toward FEMA. If Bill did say anything about Sandy to Mitt, I would guess it was meant to state what, essentially, is the obvious. Of course for Mitt, being a Republican, the truth hurts. Either that or the truth flies right over his head and he just twists the message for his own sake.
Clinton is such a schmoozer! I can totally hear him saying these things, tongue in cheek, and Shitt not 'getting it'...because Shitt is clueless.
Clinton was probably all, "Well, I better run" and Mitt was all, "Yeah. Did you see that storm? I bet that cost me a lot of votes" and Clinton was like "Probably so. Well, talk to you later. Love to Ann." and Mitt was like "Yeah! Ann will be so excited you called. Did you see her speech at the convention? She was so great." and Clinton is like "Yeah. She was great. Heck, I almost changed my vote, hehehe. Listen - gotta' run, I've got cookies in the oven." and Mitt is like "Well you hang up firs..." and Clinton is like...click.
Republicans are notoriously shitty winners and godawful messed up losers. Pitiful, just pitiful.
[block]He may end up the scary, crazy old man that the Republicans want to forget about forever.[block]
Like George Wallace, Jesse Helms, Strom Thurmond, Newt Gingrich, Donald Trump, John McCain, Pat Robertson, Ron Paul, et al?
That was funny, R47. And if this happened at all it's probably close to what you posted.
Men are such sore losers.
Yeah, R51. And women just carve 'slut', 'whore' and 'bitch' into each others' cars.
R52 - ???
Romney demonstrated early on in his campaign that he has the emotional maturity of a 16 year old rich boy who has been brought up to believe he is simply better than everyone else simply because he is who he is. He has succeeded at most things he's attempted (although by hook or crook) and can not handle defeat or failure with any amount of grace, understanding or ability to learn from what he did wrong. Like Donald Trump, he only knows how to lash out at those who beat him because defeat makes his inner child come forth. I'm still surprised he hasn't said "I know you are but what am I" yet. I know that's what he's thinking every time someone accuses him of being the reason the GOP lost this election.
Rachel went through the numbers and there was no difference in the polls that were done before and after Sandy.
Mitt is losing it.
I saw a headline right after the electiion that estimated that the storm cost Obama 800K votes across the affected states. Didn't see a Romney estimate.
We're pretty sure it was 4 million - including quite a few in Ohio.
Karl Rove, still pushing Fox News election staff
[quote] saw a headline right after the electiion that estimated that the storm cost Obama 800K votes across the affected states. Didn't see a Romney estimate.
Votes not cast because people didn't get to the polls or votes against Obama because of the storm?
I'm sure Clinton said it, but not in the way Mitt is claiming - and it's not because I don't think Clinton isn't capable of saying it. I just know Mitt is full of shit when he tells his "stories."
The "binders full of women" he claims to have requested? He didn't request them. A political women's group that felt there weren't enough women represented at the higher level in MA presented a binder of qualified women.
Votes not cast because people couldn't get to polling stations or were just too overwhelmed with recovery efforts, R58. I wish I'd read the article; at that point I was too happy to care.
did we get a confirmation from clinton that they even spoke? this sounds quite implausible if not.
Clinton is well-known for making comments like this in private. He's always networking. And he's trying to build up goodwill for a 2016 Hillary run.
There is no "goodwill" in the land of the Republican--especially not with the likes of Mitt Romney.
R61, meet R40.
R64, meet all the posters after that who state that there is no verification of R40's claim. Dickhead.
R40 needs to provide details of the show he saw the Clinton denial on.
[quote]In Sandy’s Wake, Bill Clinton Calls Out Mitt’s Mockery Of Climate Action
There's no verification either way, R65. Not saying he said it and not saying he didn't.
Shit for brains.
Are you that gullible that you believe Bill Clinton called Mitt Romney and told him Sandy was the reason he won? If so, you're stupid enough to have voted for Romney.
I would not put it past Clinton...no one should ever trust Clinton.
Love Clinton. He was a great President.
[quote]Clinton was on tonight
On WHAT? The imaginary talk show in your head?
[quote]R61 meet R40
Oh, R40? The guy who can post a complete thought? That clears up so much. *rolls eyes*
Oh, by the way, Obama called me too and told me he REALLY was born in Kenya!
