Distraught Freeper Queen Killed Himself When Obama Won
"KEY WEST, Fla. (AP) — A Key West resident who police say was distraught over the presidential election results and worried about his business has apparently killed himself.
Police say they found Henry Hamilton’s body in his bedroom Nov. 8, along with a living will with handwritten words “Do not revive! (expletive) Obama!” Two empty prescription empty pill bottles were in the dining room.
Hamilton’s partner Michael Cossey told Key West police he last saw Hamilton when they watched the election results together. According to the police report, Hamilton was upset and said, “If Barack gets re-elected, I’m not going to be around.”
Cossey says Hamilton was anxious about his tanning business. Police say Cossey found Hamilton’s body after returning home from a night of playing cards with friends.
Authorities do not suspect foul play."
Good riddance. One less freeper fag Republican vote in 2016.
Check out the comments on that site. Wow!
Because Obama was totally going after the tanning businesses first...
Tan Mom could've kept him afloat for another 20 years.
Cossey says Hamilton was anxious about his tanning business
Oh, dear god.
I know, R7. The only thing that could have been even more cringe-worthy is if he owned a child pageant consulting business.
Keep 'em coming, folks!
More suicides of crazies, please!
Those comments... wow. All posted from a loony bin, I presume?
Love this comment:
"Also missing from the story? The man operated a tanning business...in Key West, Florida.
Also left out: I understand it was actually his second venture; his first, a business that sold ice cubes to Eskimos, also, strangely, went belly up."
I think it is always a good idea to kill yourself over what may happen ..... NOT !!
If you read the article carefully, he was found with an empty bottle of a medication prescribed for schizophrenia. It supports the theory that Freepers tend to be mentally ill.
The MARY of the year goes to....
So far I can count five deaths and one crtical injury resulting from election-induced hysteria amongst baggers/freepers.
The guy in Virginia who worked for a defense contractor (he had security clearance!) who killed his two teens and his wife before turning the gun on himself. He'd been reported to be despondent over the [italic]possible[/italic] Obama re-election.
Guy in AZ run over and critically injured by his pregnant wife for not having voting.
But Obamacare will make it much easier for people to treat the skin cancer his business will help along, so I don't know what the hell downturn he was expecting.
Christ. What drama.
That's the honorable thing I've been advocating for gay republican, "Uncle Tom house nigger" traitors all along! Gay republicans SHOULD kill themselves, because the most productive thing these treason-whores can do with their backstabbing existence is end it.
If only he'd waited a little while longer he could have had those two bottles of medication for FREE . . .
Does this qualify for a Darwin Award?
F'real? I mean? F'real?
Oh, I don't believe this for a minute.
I'm sure it's tied into the whole Petraeus/Kelly/Broadwell scandal going on.
I bet Tan Queen had some connections and he was rubbed out to keep him quiet!
Really, how many Obama supporters/voters would have offed themselves if Romney had won? I don't recall any news stories of suicides resulting from either of Dubya's elections.
Henry Hamilton, 64.
Michael Cossey, 31.
"playing cards with friends..." ?
First, Obama came for the tanning beds. And I did not speak up.
Then, he came for the Botox needles. And I was silent....
If you read the article carefully, he was found with an empty bottle of a medication prescribed for schizophrenia.
I don't find mention of what medication he took.
What a Drama Queen!
R27, I love you.
I have noticed the absence on DL of misshelenbedd since the election....
r27 WW - I almost choked on my peanut butter cracker reading that.
Obama caused a gay suicide, goddam! He's got a long way to go before he catches up; we've caused thousands.
Because Obama was totally going after the tanning businesses first...
Of course, he is. Don't you know that the "urban" voters who voted for Obama don't need a tan, so Obama is going to ensure that the tanning businesses are all killed off.
I totally blame Fox News and the like for these over reactions to the election. They had the right so worked up in a lather over Obama winning, as if America would slide off the face of the planet. My mom, who watches that station non-stop cannot even talk about the election and is still depressed and scared of what's going to happen to this country.
From Key News (via JoeMyGod):
A detective found three prescription bottles in the dining room: one empty bottle for 1 milligram Alprazolams, one empty bottle for 150 milligram Seroquels and another bottle for 50-milligram Seroquels that still had pills inside, reports say.
Seroquel is an antipsychotic, Alprazolam is used for anxiety disorders.
I agree, R37.
Although I really have to wonder what they think is going to happen. They're already had Obama as POTUS for four years and ZOMG-THE-END hasn't come; you'd think that would be reassuring to them. In fact, things have only improved since Obama took over for Bush.
These drugs have apparently cured his psychosis and anxiety once and for all.
Well, he's now in a place where Obama can't defile his tanning booths.
If this is a trend, only 59,126,637 to go.
He was his own death panel.
well... one down...
There's a whole buttload of pathologies at work here.
Fox News KILLS!!!
r25, I might have...
The past week has been hell for me. Layoffs at work, plus a really bizarre & scary personal situation that I won't go into here.
These two major life crises that I'm having right now -- on top of an Obama loss -- might have sent me over the edge.
Hope you were and are joyful after the election, R47. Also, keep on truckin'. Hugs.
Damn you, R32! Don't you care about my peanut allergies?!?
Was he white? We need people that will still remember the gift of American acceptualism.
A tanning business in Key West, Florida?
Is your penis pale? Give it a tropical tan. At Mary! Mary! MARY! Tanning Salon.
Right before the election I returned from a vacation in Turkey. Not one Turk had anything good to say about Romney. Not one!
The MARY of the year goes to....
Just the year? This is fucking epic. This has to be the Maryest Mary who ever Maryed.
What r26 said.
Authorities do not suspect foul play."
Because they can't be bothered.
Only one? Well, I guess it's a start. Now if all the rest of the whining racists, sexists, homophobes, and xenophobes that make up the Republican Party would just off themselves.
He was running a tanning salon in Tampa, FL??? Christ this is just weeding out the stupid. Of course, with that fake tan Romney was sporting he might have figured he would be good for his business!
People who have jobs in Florida pay for tanning sessions so they don't have to spend every weekend at the beach. I learned this from an alcoholic who cleaned sweat off the beds for vodka.
Apparently, there's a huge sober community in Del Ray.
Seriously - Darwin and all that. If people are too stupid to understand how Obamacare works, or what it means to business owners, then people: a) don't deserve to own business and/or; b) live.
There are a surprising amount of tanning places in Florida, I don't know how any of them stay in business.
OMG, I'm claiming this as my official DL moniker!
Life is not worth living without tax cuts you heartless bitches!!
Edited out due to article length: "Hamilton reportedly took his last name in honor of his tanning salon's most coveted, regular customer, actor George Hamilton."
I work and I work til I'm half-dead and I hear people syaing, "He's getting pale." And what do I get? OBAMA! Who cares as much about the beautiful tans I give the pale ones as he cares about ME! What's healthcare going to do to my business? ANSWER ME! I employ two twinks and an alcoholic Mommy Blogger and you treat me like some New York cupcake boutique? You tax. . .a three thousand dollar a week business! We'll see how many tanning salons you tax. TIMMY! Bring me the pills!
Mister Tannie Dearest. Proprietress of Tampa's Hottest Salon!
It's better for your body to get a tan in a tanning bed -- and it keeps you from getting burned when you do go out in the sun.
You guys all live in the cold, cold north, don't you? I pity you.
Goodbye to bad rubbish.
AND this year's Darwin Award goes to. . . . . . .
R65, that was HILARIOUS!
I'm going to start a petition on the White House's website making this guy's actions mandatory for Freepers.
It's better for your body to get a tan in a tanning bed -- and it keeps you from getting burned when you do go out in the sun.
you're a liar. The WORST burn I've ever suffered was at a tanning salon. never again. I get my vitamine D just fine without that crapola
“Do not revive! (expletive) Obama!”
I'm sorrym that made me laugh.
I just do not understand a queen who would vote for Romney. It's no different than a black man voting for Lester Maddox. INSANITY!!
Go anywhere in the world r53 and you won't find a single person, conservatives included, who dont think that Romney wasn't scary as all get out. While crazy republicans scream with fury and/or kill themselves the rest of the world breathed a sigh of relief.
I think it would be interesting for the family of the deceased to bring legal action against the news media outlets who convinced their loved one he needed to be so afraid/paranoid.
I mean, if a woman can sue McDonald's because hot coffee is hot . . .
This is the funniest thread we've had in years. Brava, bitches!
another Key West drama queen
Henry Hamilton, 64.
Michael Cossey, 31.
R75, don't use the McDonald's coffee incident to discuss frivolous lawsuits.
The woman who was injured in that case was a passenger in a car that went through a McDonald's drive-through. She and the driver ordered a number of breakfast items which were handed into the car along with a couple of cups of coffee. The coffee cups were not served in a tray or other container that would have allowed them to be placed on the floor without falling over and spilling.
That particular McDonald's had received a series of written warnings from state health inspectors because their burners were set so high their coffee was too hot to be safely served to drive-through customers.
The customer was holding the coffee on the car seat between her legs because she had no other means of keeping it upright while she held the rest of the food. The lid popped off the coffee cup, and the scalding hot coffee poured from the cup onto the insides of her thighs.
The elderly customer was so severely burned she required a series of skin grafts. The medical testimony describing her burns and their treatment was overwhelming. Members of the jury said afterward they were very surprised at the extent of her injuries and the suffering she endured.
At trial, McDonald's was held liable because of the repeated warnings from the state health department that its coffee was too hot to be served in a drive-through setting and for not providing safe containers for its drive-through customers.
None of the facts in the case were frivolous. I had a small level of involvement in the case and believe me it wasn't a joke.
Nothing in that post changes my mind that it was frivolous. Coffee is hot. Shit happens.
Okay. Cars are sometimes driven by idiots. Shit happens. Don't sue if you get hit by a car.
Okay. Cars are sometimes driven by idiots. Shit happens. Don't sue if you get hit by a car.
Really? Are you willing to let every bad driver off the hook?
No, just applying R81's "logic." That logic would also apply to medical care and all kinds of other things that have the potential to cause harm.
I'm grateful to R81 for expanding my thinking.
Really? Are you willing to let every bad driver off the hook?
really? are you going to let every restaurant that has been given numerous citations for serving scalding hot coffee off the hook?
Nothing in that post changes my mind that it was frivolous.
Fortunately, your uninformed opinion means less than the jury who actually heard the facts in the case.
I wonder how many people here would kill a gay republican (or anyone they disagree with politically for that matter,) if they could absolutely get away with it.
The "New Hate" is so intense that I suspect it's more than a few.
never, r87. but i wouldn't shed a tear if say, scalia or limbag had a heart attack.
Hamilton was upset and said, “If Barack gets re-elected, I’m not going to be around.”
This is starting to piss me off now. What is it with white people and their use of the President's first name? Every other President gets referred to by his last name, but President Obama is apparently just some "boy" (come on, you know that's what these bigots are thinking) that it's ok for them to call him by his first name. David Cameron also did this last week.
Regarding why there are tanning salons in places like Florida. The operate with the premise that tanning under sun gets you skin cancer, but when you tan in a tanning salon you get a tan without the risk of getting skin cancer!
R88, how about a road trip to go dancing on their graves.
the new hate as you call it is more like simple awareness, r87.
the hate i leave to you and your feelings about president obama.
David Cameron also did this last week.
Hard to know whether it's significant unless it happens on a regular basis. And unlike these other people, Cameron does actually know Obama personally and may have been asked to call him by his first name.
Joe Biden & Hillary refer to him as Barack quite often if I remember correctly.
the more freeper deaths the better
I don't see the connection between a tanning salon and Obama's election. Can anybody offer some theories?
Self loathing in action. Its not just metaphysical anymore.
The theory is the guy's a loon. Case closed.
I wonder how many people here would kill a gay republican
R81, there is a harrowing documentary about that case. On top of the fact that it shows how clearly the woman should have her case, it is informative about how the law works in these types of situations. I was extremely skeptical about her and the case until I saw the documentary. It's unbelievable what happened to her and how she was treated.
The woman was SEVERELY injured. The amount of surgeries and the damage that occurred is shocking.
There's a reason she was awarded the damages she received. It was not a frivolous case in the slightest.
I suggest you watch it before leaping to judgment.
r100 is 100% correct.
As someone who is starting a small business I looked at the tax code as currently exists versus who would get elected.
I suspect the 15% rate will remain for investment income. That's just too big a target to take on for the President.
Now if Romney had gotten elected that would have dropped to nearly zero. So to me it's a win either way.
I adore you, r79.
A shallow Key West tanning salon queen. Good riddance.
I don't doubt that she was severely injured because as I said, COFFEE IS FUCKING HOT. Just because someone sustains an accidental injury, even a severe one, does not mean it should be litigated.
It should when it's due to willful negligence on the part of the defendant, r105.
R93, it's a sign of disrespect but I bet people don't even realize they're doing it. For instance look at your own post. You said Joe Biden and Hillary. She's constantly called by her first name (or sometimes Mrs. Clinton). Not Secretary Clinton, not Senator Clinton.
This thread make Suede blue.
How old was the tanning salon owner?
He was probably way past his shelf-life anyway, r109.
r109, see my post at r25.
r25 = r26
SPF 15 Bump.
Just because someone sustains an accidental injury, even a severe one, does not mean it should be litigated.
Try remembering that when someone accidentally drives his Hummer over the top of your Civic.
Yeah...r81 wins Dipshit of the Week.
Any other election casualties?
Not as good as this one, r116.
r80 killed this thread. Or at least put it into a vegetative state.
Thanks a lot, Coffee Cooch Troll.
Actually no R89. People who are "in politics" habitually refer to famous people by their first names. My parents were politicians and I've been hearing it all my life.
Just be glad you don't know these people.
Even when I was a kid it was clear that CRAZIES were all politically active and dedicated and that the nation hung by a thread manipulated by drooling halfwits.
SickEvilFuck is a douchebag who needs an education and some brains
it's a sign of disrespect but I bet people don't even realize they're doing it. For instance look at your own post. You said Joe Biden and Hillary. She's constantly called by her first name (or sometimes Mrs. Clinton). Not Secretary Clinton, not Senator Clinton.
Plus, if we're being technical, the "proper" way to refer to Mittens is Governor Romney, but of course we don't bother. Why would a freeper not only feel the same but go the extra mile? (e.g. constant refrains of Barack Hussein Obama)
Anyway, unless you're either a family member or a very senior cabinet member, you should ALWAYS say "the President" or "President Obama." You'll note that even House Minority Leader Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid always refer to him as such in public, even if they're likely on a first-name basis in private. (And I'm sure VP Biden and Sec. Clinton are, plus it's customary for former presidents to greet each other by first name.)
Here's a photo from the Duval Square Tropical Tan. Mercy that's a big poster of an eagle!
I don't doubt that she was severely injured because as I said, COFFEE IS FUCKING HOT. Just because someone sustains an accidental injury, even a severe one, does not mean it should be litigated.
Coffee is a beverage ment to come in contact with human skin (inside the mouth). It should not be so hot as to cause third degree burns. There are regulations covering this, and that McDonald's violated those regulations. So, yes, it should have been litigated.
Why would you open a tanning salon in Florida. Can't you just go outside?
So typical an hysterical fudge packer would pull this.
Being gay makes you crazy!
If you Vote for Obama, rest be assured, America will be blown away very soon off the map. Vote for Romney and he will increase our military funding and we will have the Safest Country in the World to live in for JUST US AMERICANS as we have since we began. ALso, we will still be the most feared Land as always. Just three more days to vote people. Think about it people. Romney & we live and stay t
he Greatest, strongest, Worldwide most feared & Respected & Safe Country in the World. Obama the Muslim is taking away our military funding. He wants to sell to Russia and to the middle east. Selling our most advanced artilerary equipment that assures us our saftey. Take that away from us and we are a future enslaved, destoyed & conqured Country.
JUST US AMERICANS as we have since we began
Home Skooling at werk agin.
Too bad she didn't just turn the knob on high and close the tanning bed door!
Nice and crispy!
A whole new meaning to "Burning Man"
As Big Bird said to Romney after the election..."Whose unemployed NOW Bitch!"
A tanning salon in that location?? Can't people just, I don't know, walk outside?
Here's a photo from the Duval Square Tropical Tan. Mercy that's a big poster of an eagle!
That looks like the place I go to get my taxes done and my packages shipped out.
Hell I'd be suicidal too Gay with no decoration sense.
"Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it ... You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"
We are switching to the new platform for The DataLounge this weekend. All of our mobile users have been using it for over a week and all first time users have been using it for about a month - which adds up to well over one million users. So we're ready to end this phase of the testing and move everybody to the new site. (more)
And yes, we've changed the look and some of how it operates.
Yes, we know you just *hate* it in well in advance.
Yes, we know we suck.
Yes, we are the biggest suckers that ever sucked.
But it was time for a change and with the huge shift to mobile it was long overdue. We've taken this opportunity not only to update the look but also make major changes under the hood (or "bonnet" if you're either British or pretentious or both). And we have to prepare for 2016 - a presidential election year where we can normally expect to see a 60% jump in traffic (yes, we've seen 5 presidential elections so far…Christ we're old).
The site has a bunch - nay, plethora - of new features which will make the site more usable: better search, the ability to ignore posters and threads, see link previews, to pick up a thread where you left off, spam and malware filtering and more.
If you want you can go explore and see for yourself, Click here.
And while running the tests we've noticed two interesting reactions to the new system - people are spending more time on the site and more people that come stay around longer and look at more stuff. Both good things. Yay!
Possibly we've not slain all the dragons and there will be issues that come up during the switchover. There's a help button in the lower right hand corner of the page which you can use to send us bug reports.
Please include as much information about the hardware (PC, Mac, Tablet, Phone etc), operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS etc) and browser (Chrome, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer etc) that you are using as possible to help us replicate and fix the problem.
Please note that complaints about colors, fonts, icons and the like are not "bugs" - they are design choices that we've made and we expect one or two cases of world-class bitching. But they won't actually cause headaches, scurvy, heart attacks, Restless Leg Syndrome, Morgellon's Disease or the vapors (but have your smelling salts at hand just in case).
Talking to DataLounge servers. Please wait a moment...
