Distraught Freeper Queen Killed Himself When Obama Won
No, seriously.
"KEY WEST, Fla. (AP) — A Key West resident who police say was distraught over the presidential election results and worried about his business has apparently killed himself.
Police say they found Henry Hamilton’s body in his bedroom Nov. 8, along with a living will with handwritten words “Do not revive! (expletive) Obama!” Two empty prescription empty pill bottles were in the dining room.
Hamilton’s partner Michael Cossey told Key West police he last saw Hamilton when they watched the election results together. According to the police report, Hamilton was upset and said, “If Barack gets re-elected, I’m not going to be around.”
Cossey says Hamilton was anxious about his tanning business. Police say Cossey found Hamilton’s body after returning home from a night of playing cards with friends.
Authorities do not suspect foul play."

- R75, don't use the McDonald's coffee incident to discuss frivolous lawsuits.
The woman who was injured in that case was a passenger in a car that went through a McDonald's drive-through. She and the driver ordered a number of breakfast items which were handed into the car along with a couple of cups of coffee. The coffee cups were not served in a tray or other container that would have allowed them to be placed on the floor without falling over and spilling.
That particular McDonald's had received a series of written warnings from state health inspectors because their burners were set so high their coffee was too hot to be safely served to drive-through customers.
The customer was holding the coffee on the car seat between her legs because she had no other means of keeping it upright while she held the rest of the food. The lid popped off the coffee cup, and the scalding hot coffee poured from the cup onto the insides of her thighs.
The elderly customer was so severely burned she required a series of skin grafts. The medical testimony describing her burns and their treatment was overwhelming. Members of the jury said afterward they were very surprised at the extent of her injuries and the suffering she endured.
At trial, McDonald's was held liable because of the repeated warnings from the state health department that its coffee was too hot to be served in a drive-through setting and for not providing safe containers for its drive-through customers.
None of the facts in the case were frivolous. I had a small level of involvement in the case and believe me it wasn't a joke.
- Nothing in that post changes my mind that it was frivolous. Coffee is hot. Shit happens.
- Okay. Cars are sometimes driven by idiots. Shit happens. Don't sue if you get hit by a car.
- [quote] Okay. Cars are sometimes driven by idiots. Shit happens. Don't sue if you get hit by a car.
Really? Are you willing to let every bad driver off the hook?
- No, just applying R81's "logic." That logic would also apply to medical care and all kinds of other things that have the potential to cause harm.
I'm grateful to R81 for expanding my thinking.
- [quote]Really? Are you willing to let every bad driver off the hook?
really? are you going to let every restaurant that has been given numerous citations for serving scalding hot coffee off the hook?
- [quote]Nothing in that post changes my mind that it was frivolous.
Fortunately, your uninformed opinion means less than the jury who actually heard the facts in the case.
- I wonder how many people here would kill a gay republican (or anyone they disagree with politically for that matter,) if they could absolutely get away with it.

- [quote] Hamilton was upset and said, “If Barack gets re-elected, I’m not going to be around.”
This is starting to piss me off now. What is it with white people and their use of the President's first name? Every other President gets referred to by his last name, but President Obama is apparently just some "boy" (come on, you know that's what these bigots are thinking) that it's ok for them to call him by his first name. David Cameron also did this last week.
- Regarding why there are tanning salons in places like Florida. The operate with the premise that tanning under sun gets you skin cancer, but when you tan in a tanning salon you get a tan without the risk of getting skin cancer!

Hard to know whether it's significant unless it happens on a regular basis. And unlike these other people, Cameron does actually know Obama personally and may have been asked to call him by his first name.
Joe Biden & Hillary refer to him as Barack quite often if I remember correctly.

Oh, MARY!
- R81, there is a harrowing documentary about that case. On top of the fact that it shows how clearly the woman should have her case, it is informative about how the law works in these types of situations. I was extremely skeptical about her and the case until I saw the documentary. It's unbelievable what happened to her and how she was treated.
The woman was SEVERELY injured. The amount of surgeries and the damage that occurred is shocking.
There's a reason she was awarded the damages she received. It was not a frivolous case in the slightest.
I suggest you watch it before leaping to judgment.
- r100 is 100% correct.
- As someone who is starting a small business I looked at the tax code as currently exists versus who would get elected.
I suspect the 15% rate will remain for investment income. That's just too big a target to take on for the President.
Now if Romney had gotten elected that would have dropped to nearly zero. So to me it's a win either way.

Plus, if we're being technical, the "proper" way to refer to Mittens is Governor Romney, but of course we don't bother. Why would a freeper not only feel the same but go the extra mile? (e.g. constant refrains of Barack Hussein Obama)
Anyway, unless you're either a family member or a very senior cabinet member, you should ALWAYS say "the President" or "President Obama." You'll note that even House Minority Leader Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid always refer to him as such in public, even if they're likely on a first-name basis in private. (And I'm sure VP Biden and Sec. Clinton are, plus it's customary for former presidents to greet each other by first name.)

Coffee is a beverage ment to come in contact with human skin (inside the mouth). It should not be so hot as to cause third degree burns. There are regulations covering this, and that McDonald's violated those regulations. So, yes, it should have been litigated.
