- I always thought that Liza Minnelli was by far a better singer than her mother. She is more of an artist (when it comes to singing)than Judy was and certainly her music repertoire is far more interesting. Actually, Liza Minnelli gave me goosebumps a lot of times with some of her songs.

Judy had a far greater range, had superior vocal control and a repetoire that cannot be beat.
Liza has a coarser voice and struggles to control what she has left. Of course, she's now about 20 years older than her mom was when she died. Liza has impact and pizazz but her mother had everything from a whisper to a shout and everything in between.

- R4, i respect your opinion and i read it very carefully. Probably Judy had a greater voice than Liza, but in my opinion Liza is more passionate and more moving that her mother on stag. Liza could make someone shiver with her performances, the way she loses control is not cheap but deep and heartfelt. Her songs also have more edge than Judie's and what also moves me is that Liza cannot realize that she is more touching than her unique mother.
Actually the song ''Somewhere over the Rainbow'' is the only song of Judy that i really like. Once or twice I downloaded a lot of her songs and i find them boring. Only ''Over The Rainbow'' does the trick to me.
On the other hand, Liza sang many songs that made the difference to me and she sang them exactly as a real artist would approach them.
