It must be pretty easy. You always hear about all these unplanned pregnancies. Is it basically like a tiny drop of sperm will impregnate a fertile woman? It must be terrifying!

• It is pretty terrifying. Yeah, if you're fertile, it only takes ONE sperm cell. And no birth control method is 100%. What makes it more confusing and perilous is that there's a remote possibility of getting pregnant at any point during the cycle, including during menstruation. As for who gets pregnant and when, it often does seem like a matter of Murphy's Law.
