Gere found forgiveness through Buddhism.

- The article describes Gere as "the Oscar nominated actor".
For what movie did Gere get an Academy Award nomination?
- Has anyone apologized to the gerbil?

- Chicago, R1.
- Richard Gere was not nominated for an Oscar for Chicago. The Best Actor nominees that year were Adrien Brody, Nicolas Cage, Michael Caine, Daniel Day Lewis and Jack Nicholson.
Gere has never been nominated for an Oscar.
- Gere was not nominated for "Chicago." But he did win the Golden Globe and was nominated for a SAG.
That said, Hollywood & Swine is a satirical paper, a la The Onion.
- Wondering how long it will take people to get it...
- Poor Sandusky
- Best line:
[quote]”And Cindy Crawford divorced me because she wanted a pet but couldn’t trust me with one.”
I'm picturing them arguing ... "But, Cindy, what about Cocker Spaniel?" "No!" "A lab?" "No!" "A Great Dane?" "No! I can't trust you with ANY of them!"
(Yes, I know it's a satirical article.)
- Is gerbil-launching even anatomically possible? Or is it just a sexual urban legend? I mean, the physical mechanics of it sound awkward at best.
- This "news story" is obviously a joke. First, it says the rumor first appeared in the early 1990s. I remember hearing it in like the mid 80s. Second, the perpetrator is identified as being 35 years old, meaning he would have had started the rumor before he was born.

And not a very funny one. It's harder to pull off Onion-style parody than most people think.
