The Fix Is In....

on 21! No, not anymore - but regarding other shows, I have more questions than answers. Obviously, they are not going to put all these "reality" competition shows on if they can't control them. I'm wondering specifically about the contestants-vote-each-other-off and the America-votes-someone-off programs. How do they fix the voting so that they keep the contestants they want?

• While it's against federal law to rig a game show or any competition show, I don't know if the reality contests are covered by that law. There's sometimes fine print in the credits stating "producers were involved in the judges' decision" or something to that effect; maybe that's enough of a loophole.

• Yeah, producers can fix the judges and I'm sure they do just that. What I can't figure out is how they fix "American Idol" or "Survivor" where it's not up to judges. How do they fix the America-votes and fellow-contestants vote programs? I don't believe that they leave it up to chance.
