Hillary Clinton should do weight training
She needs to take a break and start taking care of herself for 2016. She doesn't need a radical diet, just some free weights. She'll feel better, too.
- If you're suggesting that she "get in shape," and that other people talk about it, I'm just going to remind you that you shouldn't bother voting for her.
So many gay men don't realize that their approval/disapproval of (or liberties taken with) women's bodies is a form of misogyny and a vote for the existing hegemonies.
- Ladies all should weight train after a certain age. It is the best method of preventing bone loss-a big deal for gals in their 60's
- Shut-up frau, R1. I recommend the weight training as an alternative to dieting, where HRC could build muscle and strength and increase her flexibility and bone density.
Webmaster, these lesbians hall monitors must go.
OP
- And you predictably miss the point. Enjoy your ignorance.
- Hillary is already quoted as saying that when she leaves the State Department she wants to (1) rest and (2) get in shape. OP, the weight training idea entered her head before it entered yours. Time to move on people; nothing to see here.
- I'm not trying to be a hall monitor, I'm actually not a lesbian nor a frau, and I'm trying to help ALL of us.
Even gay men have written essays about this. It's not an attack, but a call to attention about what conversations like this really mean, and how they can hurt everyone by being so pervasive. That is, if the ideals you profess are truly your ideals.
- Who says she isn't weight training already? The weights women use to keep their bones strong do not build muscle or make them look like gym bunnies.
She is arguably the most successful and important woman in the world political arena but she needs to quit focusing on keeping the world from blowing itself up and get to work on that gym routine. It's vital that we keep keep sending the message she will never be perfect enough, no matter what she does.
I'm sorry R1 doesn't seem to understand that looks are far more important than accomplishment.
Bring on the pink tights.
- In the real world, looks matter if you chose to be a public figure. It's like when a celeb's looks are picked apart here and someone whine's that they shouldn't be judged by their looks, with the enviable accusation of misogyny if the celeb is female. No one is entitled to be on tv or in movies, more attractive people are favored and that's just a fact of life. The same in politics, whether looks should matter is irrelevant, they do matter. That said, I hope she doesn't run, we could do better.
- OP...how do you know that I don't already have do some strenth/weigh training?
Hillary
- I know it's sexist, but what she really needs is a makeover. A woman nearing 70 with long hair? No.
- If she were to get in shape and drop a few pounds this would help her in a race against Christie. Of course he has a few years to get into shape if he wants to run.
We should start a donut fund for Christie.
- Thank you R7.
- You're silly, R10.
Lauren%20Bacall
- I'm pretty sure the reason for the long hair is that it's easier for her with her job. She has spent most of the last four years on planes and in hotel rooms, and long hair is simpler.
- R1 needs to lay off the carbs. And get some SPANX.
Her pear shape is making her angry and unattractive.
- It's a good thing OP wasn't around for Golda Meir. He would have stroked out.

- R8, If she were obese or extremely slovenly or something, I might understand the suggestions for what she should be doing with her body (regardless of whether she said it first).
But especially for people who want her elected (yourself not included, I know), she is the last person at which they want to direct that stereotypical female appearance-criticizing attitude.
It doesn't matter if you all are "concerned about her bones." I'm sure you very much are. *eyeroll*
- She'll never be able to wear heels as long as I can see her cankles from my front porch!

I don't think so.

- R19, you do know what the word "arguably" means, don't you?
Hey, you know what? Let's do a thread on Angela Merkel makeover suggestions. Those bangs have got to know. I'm sure at least three DL posters know who Merkel is.
- Those bangs have got to go.

If that's a veiled criticism of me, I won't hear it and I'm not going to respond to it.

- Shallow-assed queens.
- She should definitely get that hair cut and styled. She looks like one of those crazy old ladies you see out on the streets.

- R13, Lauren Bacall is not a sitting Secretary of State with Presidential ambitions.
- This is like the 3rd misogynist thread I've read on Datalounge today. WTF? If Republicans had said the same things you would have tore them to pieces! Why is it that it's ok to say this shit when you're a gay male?
- The long hair is just not flattering. I do think she is an attractive woman. She just needs a more appropriate hair style. She looked good with a short, business-like 'do.
- God, shut the fuck up trying to control women's appearances.
- How do we know Lauren Bacall does not have presidential ambitions?

I heard she was running on the Coffee Party ticket.

- I think she should cut her hair, too. And I am female. She needs a good hairdresser.
- Stop and give it a rest on Hillary 2016.
- I think she will probably cut her hair when she is finished with the constant traveling and living out of suitcases. Taking care of shorter hair is unrealistic when she's S of S.
- Hillary should get into competitive bodybuilding.
- [quote]Hillary should get into competitive bodybuilding.
And she should cut off all of her hair and wear Eva Gabor wigs.
There. We solved all of her problems at one time. Except for that pesky husband who needs a nose job.
- Hillary should join Cirque de Soleil
- She should become a professional bicycle racer.
- Hillary should definitely NOT cut her hair.
She looks beautiful and gorgeous with the long blonde streaked hair of various blonde colors.
The long hair is very flattering and makes her look younger.
- She should do granny porn.
- She should do burlesque shows, and beekeeping.
- Scream with angry power, R30!
*rolls%20eyes*
- Or write kiddie porn
- Someone has to say it, R43. Ya sick little man.
- Clearly Hillary has never put a lot of stock in the way she looks. However she has gained significant weight and she is surely aware of the health consequences (hello- her husband's bypass surgery). My guess is that she will lose weight as part of her return to private life and rest from the huge responsibilities she has carried. I am a huge fan of hers and will support her in a run for President in a second. I want her to be healthy of course, for obvious reasons.
charlie
- The weight gain has to do with HC's chronic lack of sleep, which is talked about in every single article about her schedule.
- Is she a lesbian? It seems like those rumors have stopped.
- She's probably eating on the run and also eating too much unhealthy food at those endless state dinners.
It's no wonder she wants to quit. She'll probably sleep for a week.
- [quote]The long hair is very flattering and makes her look younger.
Well, younger than Methuselah. Maybe.
- She doesn't have time to be a lesbian.
- Are she and Huma still together?
- Joe Biden needs to take a break and start taking care of himself for 2016. He doesn't need a radical diet, just some hair color to attract the youth vote.
Andrew Cuomo needs to take a break and start taking care of himself for 2016. He doesn't need a radical diet, just some plastic surgery to attract PUMAS.
Brian Schweitzer needs to take a break and start taking care of himself for 2016. He doesn't need a radical diet, just ditch that stupid cowboy look and take up some weights to appeal to gays on the coasts.
Deval Patrick needs to take a break and start taking care of himself for 2016. He doesn't need a radical diet, just weight lifting would help.

- Good Gail Collins op-ed: "Hillary's Next Move."
“I am so looking forward to next year,” she said. “I just want to sleep and exercise and travel for fun. And relax. It sounds so ordinary, but I haven’t done it for 20 years.
I would like to see whether I can get untired. I work out and stuff, but I don’t do it enough and I don’t do it hard enough because I can’t expend that much energy on it.”
Cut her some slack. She's 65 years old and has an exhausting schedule that would wear out people half her age.

- I bet she is exhausted.
- It doesn't matter, R59. She needs to hit that gym. And she needs to spend more time fussing with her hair and makeup. The guys she meets with probably appreciate that.
- Hillary's hair and make-up always look great.
Both her hair and make-up are almost always impeccable and very pretty.
- Don't bet on her running for President. I honestly think she will be tapped for the Supreme Court.
- I would *love* Hilary for the Supreme Court!!
Your%20mouth%20to%20the%20FSM%27s%20ears
- I would love her with the Supremes.
- A seat on the Supreme Court would be better than another run for president at age 69. Besides, Ruth Bader Ginsburg has demonstrated that you can have long hair there no matter what your age. You just need to keep it smartly pulled back.

- WHile she's at it, she should take a hot young lover, let's say Channing Tatum and get laid a few times.

- All of you should do more cutting, more cardio, and more isometric and isotonic weightlifting, and more Brazilian martial arts for 2-3 hours per day in rotation, until you are invincible to all physical scrutiny. Maximum 2% body fat, no extra skin (of course).
Eat one 6oz. lettuce salad every other day at 3pm, then run intervals on treadmill for 45 minutes. Water load. Follow immediately with diuretics.
Do this routine until you're 130 lbs, no matter what your height. But be sure to retain all of your muscle, or you will look even more disturbing and DISGUSTING than you already will.
Buy a new wardrobe, but make sure it's not too girly. If you're lucky, maybe a straight woman will grab your crotch without asking, because we all know that's just what straight women were made to do. It really just means she admires you (but thinks you could make better fashion choices). Le score!
I say this because I sincerely care that you all have the longest life spans possible! xx
- [quote]Don't bet on her running for President. I honestly think she will be tapped for the Supreme Court.
What a stupid idea, R62. Obama can appoint any generic liberal to the Supreme Court and it would have the very same result if it was Hillary there.
She's a once-in-a-generation figure with sky-high approval ratings and 100% name recognition that will likely beat any Republican challenger following Obama leaving office. Plus, she would probably appoint 3-4 more Supreme Court justices during her prospective term who could very well be conservatives should a Repub win office in 2016.
The country was clamoring for their very first women president in 2008 but was beaten by the prospective of the first black president. This time, she should cruise to the nomination in a primary, if Bill even allows one to take place in 2016.
The choice is easy.

- The ambassador killing ended it for Hilary.
- Hillary Clinton needs to win in 2016. She is over-qualified at this point.
If she wins in 2016, she will be 69 when sworn in. The same age Reagan was when he became Pres. in 1980. Unlike Reagan though, Hillary actually has intellect & she won't make our country a concubine for corporations like St. Ronnie did.
Speaking of concubines .........
