read this article from NYMAG about Jesse Jackson. For anyone who isn't familiar with politics (like me) it's an interesting read about Jesse, especially compared to his fellow Chicagoan Barack Obama. JJ Jr is a combination of sad/ambitious/weirdo guy that makes Patrick Kennedy Jr. look like a sane guy.
It's bad enough that people like Jackson, Bachmann, and Palin get elected to public office, but how stupid do people have to be to vote for them in the first place?
I felt bad for Junior after reading that NYMAG article. He's been surrounded by corruption and craziness his whole life. I'd be in the looney bin, too.
R5, with your logic you ought to be in a looney bin.
When it comes to corruption, Chicago is no Second City. The same day that Jackson was re-elected Derrick Smith was re-elected as a state representative even though he was expelled by other representatives two months ago for accepting a bribe. After comparing himself to MLK and Mandela, Smith reminded voters that "People wanted Jesus to be quiet."
