Has Richard Lugar been interviewed yet for his reaction on the Mourdock implosion?
In 2006, Richard Lugar was still such a strong Senator that he didn't even have a Democratic opponent. Only the Libertarians ran against him.
Lugar won 87% of the vote!
This week a seat that just 6 years ago had not even been worth contesting, was won by the Democrats by 6%. (50-44)
Amazing turnaround of events. And all because the GOP far-right nominated Mourdock.
Do you think Lugar is having the last laugh today?
I would like to see Obama find a place for Lugar in the Administration.
He's going to pick a couple Republicans for various things anyway, and it would be good to have Lugar there as a constant reminder of how their Republicans turn on their own kind.
Lugar was a moderate Republican on some issues - he worked with (then) Sen. Obama and Sen. Kerry on nuclear disarmament treaties several years ago.
