Doesn't treason require one to be aware of one's actions and the consequences? I'm not so sure Reagan knew what he was doing.

Everyone knows that President Reagan should have been impeached for what he did during Iran/Contra. Republicans will say so but only in the infamous "quiet rooms" where such conversations take place.
What I heard many, many years ago was that the Congress knew they ought to impeach the son of a bitch but leadership thought it was "too soon" after Nixon. The damage to the country would have been too great so they let him go.
