Have you found 'being a DLer' makes you not very good on other forums and internet groups?

I don't really post much on other forums. I'm a member of a British Film forum and a Facebook '60s Music group and especially on the music group, when someone posts a lousy song I want to say what I think, but no one does. They just thumbs up...there's no thumbs down. No one ever says 'what a shit song...you have shitty taste'. It's a bore. I'm not an especially snarky poster but I'm used to being able to say what I think about other people's posts etc...and people standing up for themselves in return. I'm just used to the DL way of doing things and it's just not appreciated elsewhere. I also like knowing that most of the other folks are gay. DL has made me realise that I have more of a gay sensibility than I had thought. I've also noticed that forums where everyone has a name and identity, get very kleeky...they just ignore newcomers, even if you post something they obviously find interesting or answer a question about something someone's looking for.
