Keyshia was throwing more shade when she said she listens to TuPac who starred with Janet in Poetic Justice.
Well Keyshia probably only likes female singers...Janet is in that category with Madonna and a lot of current recording vocalist girls who can't sing too well...
Well at least Keyshia is not broke
[quote]Keyshia Cole is a poor man's Mary J Blige.
Janet Jackson plays "white" music, not hip hop. That's what she was saying.
Janet has had more pop music for the last 15 years or so, but her 80s and early 90s stuff was r&b/pop. She helped to bridge the gap. Lots of black girls growing up in the 80s and early 90s listened to Janet. I think it's just Keyshia has a bigger voice and she wouldn't relate to Janet. Mary J. Blige is more up her alley.
If Keyshia hadn't heard what the reporter asked her she would have said "What?" but instead she said "Who?" which means she heard the name and threw shade. You can feel the venom in her tone of voice.
I dont like her stank attitude. I got through one episode of Daniel and Keyshia. Her adoptive mom should have bitch slapped her for talking her to like that in Hawaii before her wedding. Her career will probably take off again when she writes songs about her divorce from Daniel. You know its coming!
I love Frankie though!
"I mostly listen to Tupac" is the black girl equivalent of Megan Fox talking about how much she loves beer and burritos and girls who talk about how they don't have female friends because "they create too much drama."
It all translates to "Hey, men! I like all the objectively cool stuff you guys like. Cools girls like me don't actually like women (except when we're aping lesbianism because you think it's hot) or feminine stuff (except, you know, pushup bras, hair extensions and makeup, because the male gaze is totally cool). I'm just like a bro, but I'll never actually compete with or emasculate you. Validate me!"
Resistance is futile JanBot.
Don't fight the urge to defend your girl!
I never understood the Janet Jackson appeal when she relevant. All of her songs just sound like whispering to me.
Did you notice that Janet's "career" died when Michael died? Coincidence? I think not.
It should be "Keyshia who??" That stank twit has had an attitude problem since day one, and her ex-junkie mother embarrassed the family even more by appearing on Dr. Drew's Rehab show a couple of years ago. She really is a Poor Man's Mary J., but the difference is Mary has grown a lot over the years, both vocally and personally, while Keyshia still has a lot of maturing to do. As for Janet, well, Janet Jackson was making hits when Keyshia was still a little hoodrat trolling around South Central and hanging on to Tupac's every whim. No idea why she's throwing the legend that is Janet Jackson shade, but she can take that attitude of hers and stick it where the sun don't shine.
As if she doesn't know who Janet Jackson is. Did she grow up under a rock?
I think she has a rock for a brain, R31.
Please, she'll be selling her pussy out on the street soon enough.
Perhaps she thought it pathetic and weak that she was asked about Janet- y'know, like you two black gurls simply must know each other, you both make pussi jive music.
I'd be pissed off and the tenuous link if I was her.
Keyshia's new song is pretty good

Gurl!! I cant believe we have a thread on Keyshia Cole of all people. Ok, I might have liked her in 2005 before she got her teeth fixed, but Im not feeling her blond mow-hawked ass now.
