- BOOM
- I'm SHOCKED SHOCKED!
- Technically it's not 'Breaking' when you have generated the fourth thread on the topic, OP.
- A slap in the face to Mitt, particularly in what Powell said about Romney's foreign policy problems.
- Gen. Powell, former Secretary of State, blasts Mitt Romney's foreign policy positions as "a moving target."
Tee hee!
Mittens will be mad!
- Too little,too late.

- what r6 said.
but if it helps it is the least he can do.
- I w&w r6 because WISDOM is so sorely lacking on this cunty-for-the-sake-of-cunty website.

- It was a very good interview.
- How soon into his show today will Rush L. claim that the only reason Powell is endorsing Obama is because he is black?
- Didn't he endorse him in 2008?
- I don't know, R11, but I wouldn't be surprised. That's what Rush said in 2008.
- Honestly, I wouldn't let that man Powell drive one of my five cars.

- Fox News talking point: Well, you know how the blacks stick together...
- So if a prominent white Democrat, who worked for three ex-Democratic Presidents, came out in support of Romney would it be because Romney is white? NO. Because then we would be accusing him of RACISM!
- Has Condi endorsed?
- Condi made an appearance with Paul Ryan. She's as good at candidate choice as she was at national security.
- Colin Powell is Obama's Kenyan father!!
Fox%20News
- Forbes magazine a while back reported that Colon is worth more than $30 million.
A lifetime spent on the public payroll sure 'pays' off!!!!!
Mrs%20Patrick%20Campbell
- Seriously, this was a real tweet before the racist cunt deleted it:
@larissakm: Colin Powell endorses Obama..... imagine that....black on black. Come on whiteys, vote Romney!"
Utterly%20disturbing
- [quote] Didn't he endorse him in 2008?
Yes.
I don't understand the hysteria over this
- there is no "hysteria"...
- Mrs. Patrick Campbell: even somebody as brain-damaged from tertiary syphillis as you knows that one simply does not acquire $30M living off the "public payroll".
- He did endorse him. But he is a Republican and has withheld any endorsement up until this point. Although one might question his foreign policy credentials given his sellout over Iraq, his opinion holds weight with independent voters and coming on the heels of the foreign policy debate, this will be a factor, albeit a small one.
- That's like getting on the Titanic after it hit the iceberg.
Tea Bagger
- Why are you shocked? As little foreign policy experience as the President had going into his first term you that certainly doesn't hold true now.
Of course Mittens' followers will be dismissive of it for various unseemly reasons. They're such fucking hypocrites.
- Nice interview and a thoughtful anaylsis of why the President deserves a second term. Good job, General.
- Four threads?
Hysteria
- r26. Your candidate is losing, freeptard.
Facts do happen, even if you don't want to admit them into your little mind.
- R21, she has now locked her twitter acct.
- But Mitt got the endorsement of Kid Rock!!
- OMG, I nearly spilled my coffee!!
- Jesse Jackson Jr has disappeared and screwed up in a swirl of rumors, but his district has him ahead of all other contenders. Loyal black vote. But hey, I don't blame them in a way.
- Not surprised. He and Buscho seriously disagreed over 9/11 and Iraq. He rolled over and did as he was told but did not ever come to grips with the lies he was made to tell Americans.
- People cited Obama's "lack of expoerience" in Foreign policy a lot in 2008. But I think it's difficult to have that experience unless you've already been in govenrment.
Also, it has a lot more to do with a person's world view and personal experience. Look at George Bush. Not only did';t he have foreign policy experience, he was a incredibly insular person. His world was very small. Remember his first foreign visit was to Mexico!
The same with Romney. For all his "missionary work" in France, his world view is very insular. The perfect illustration of their differences is the contrast Obama drew in the last debate when he responded to Mitt's inaccurate criticism about ignoring Israel.
Romney traveled to Israel to attend a fundraiser and meet with Bebe, who he already knew and worked with. He flew with friends and relatives and, most prominently, Adelson, the Vegas billionaire who bankrolls superpacs.
Romney's like the tourist who travels abroad in a group, and never truly experiences the culture or meets the people. Obama is the exact opposite. Obama also learns about other cultures and respcts the differences instead of letting those difference become points of conflict. So it's about temprament and world view as much as it is experience.
- Colin Powell took to long to figure out that Condi was not his friend or ally she was another NeoCon operative who was on Team Cheney.
- Colon = mass-murdering war criminal who will burn in hell!
Mrs%20Patrick%20Campbell
- Like anyone cares to hear about Powell, he's yesterdays news.
- Powell kept him mouth shut in 2008 until pretty late, then he made a very thoughtful endorsement of Obama explaining exactly why he preferred him. I think it was on 60 Minutes? or something similar. He was attacked by Rush and other Repubs as "voting for the black guy."
My guess is Powell waited to hear the last debate before deciding, though he was leaning Obama. He seems to be a very slow and deliberate thinker, which would have made him a bad President. You have to be able to make quick decisions in real time. For an endorsement, though, this may be good for undecideds who respect him. Some of those people decide based on celebrity endorsements because they are too lazy to learn about issues. I hope it helps.
Cheney is endorsing Romney. Will that affect any undecideds?
- The difference I see is that Colin is military and knows the horrors and consequences unlike all those trust fund babies he worked for.
- "horrors and consequences of war".
I cannot type for shit today.
R41
- The only that would have made his announcement even better would have been to have Powell, decked out in his four-star general regalia, ride in on Rafalca and carrying a bayonet.
- Christ, I hope so, R40. I hope they run photos of Romney with Cheney. I hope they show Karl Rove working hard for Romney, too. That has to affect some undecideds.
You don't need anymore proof Romney's owned and paid for by NeoCon militarists, and the Extreme Tea Party Right.
You have to realize he'll have foreign and domestic policies that reflect them, and you can no longer make the argument he's really a moderate who'll govern from the center. He's not respected by these people and they'll treat him like the Empty Suit he is.
- Coward endorses a coward what else is new?
- Powell slammed Mitt. He basically said that the Romney foreign policy is incoherent and all over the map.
- Romney has no experience in foreign affairs. He seems like most Mormons in that they are sheltered and cloistered from the outside world and "different" thinking people.
- They are certainly upset at Powell. I think they thought he was a good little Uncle Tom.
- I wonder if this endorsement while welcomed really gets President Obama more votes?
- R49 - I think it will. Powell is highly respected, especially in Virginia. I think his support of Obama and his criticism of Romney's foreign policy will sway some undecideds.
- Independent commentator John Avlon said today that Powell's endorsement matters with Independents.
- I still wonder what Condi thinks about Romney.
Especially about his lack of foreign policy.
Or does she see another stint as SOS?
Dis Romney have colored people in his admin in Massachusetts?
- Is Colon a homosexual?
Colon makes us think of Aunt Jemima.
Mrs%20Patrick%20Campbell
- [quote]Colon a homosexual?
No, but some of his sailors and deck hands certainly were.
- I knew Obama would win when Colin Powell endorsed him. Powell is very politically savvy and waited late to endorse after realizing that Obama would win. His endorsement was made into a very good commercial that had resonance with swing voters.
- Colin Powell gets the last laugh over John Sununu.
- Where is John Sununu?
- R57, he hasn't been seen since telling the media that Colin Powell only endorsed Obama because he's black.
Guess the Romney campaign kept him out of view for the end of the election.
