People who don't eat but are fucking obsessed with food.

Know any? I work with a mid 30s age woman who has the body of a 16 year old model. All she talks about is food. People have stopped eating at their desks in our department because she won't let anyone eat in peace. She goes and stands above them almost drooling. She also is crazy about celebrity gossip, but only so she can say every star is fat. She loves finding pictures of famous women eating. She cuts them out and sticks them up at her desk.

Eating Disorder - classic.
Alexis Stewart cooks up a storm, blogs about it, post pictures of her food creation, then doesn't touch it.
Does she urge the guy at the next cube to get horrible greasy burgers at Wendy's?

That actually makes sense to me R5. I'm a good cook too but after tasting, adjusting seasoning, re-tasting, etc. I'm often not hungry for the finished product.
My assistant manager is a woman who CONSTANTLY eats junk food (chips, candy). She doesn't take a lunch break. Instead she takes a bunch of little breaks and she sits in the waiting area chair with a BIG bag of chips (not the single serve size - but the size you would open for 4 people). She constantly has her hand in the big bag shoving chips into her mouth. She doesn't eat lunch, just junk. She always eats at the counter (near clothes) or the waiting area. She's overweight by 50 lbs. She ALWAYS has a bag of something open and spilling onto the counter in view of customers. I'm the first person who comes in every morning and almost every day I have to kill a roach. One day a customer is going to see a roach crawling across the counter. We never had roaches before she worked there. She's a nice person and I like her but I'm tired of seeing food all over the place and the roaches make me sick.
I agree with R1, she has an eating disorder. I know two people who spend a lot of time talking about food but don't eat. They are both unhealthily thin. One of them exercises daily like a maniac and the other just pushes her food around her plate then covers it with a napkin and says she'll eat it later but never does.

She was a professional cook (institutional/nutritional type, not the fun kind.) She could make bacon grease SING. She barely ate and zipped around on a perpetual caffeine buzz. She lived to 97, 96 of them quite well.
My friends sister was like this before she sadly passed from anorexia in her 30s. She was constantly baking amazingly rich cookies and trying to gift them to people.
Worked with a French artist who had an eating disorder and wanted you to know about it. Talked about food and French cooking incessantly, but if you took her to a restaurant she would nibble rodent-like on a quarter of a Luna bar and not order any food. The waiters loved her, sure...
I briefly roomed with a dancer who did this. She was under constant pressue to lose more and more weight, but barely dared to eat. She'd cook and urge other people to eat, she'd declare she was going to pig out and eat two bites of a huge, expensive dessert. She wasn't truly anorexic, I think, other people had convinced her to starve herself.

What's so unbelievable about R8's situation? I've worked with my share of women like that (and had to deal with insects).
The people I know who are obsessed with food are all fat. When I was a teenager, I worked in an office full of middle-aged women one summer. All they talked about was what they had for breakfast, what they brought for lunch and what they might make for dinner. Millie: So, waddaya havvin for lunch? Marilyn: Leftovers from dinner last night. Eggplant Parmesan. Hash browns and peach cobbler. Elaine: Eggplant! I thought you were makin' meat loaf last night! Marilyn: I was gonna, but Tony brought home a buncha vegetables from his friend Sal's garden! He hadda beautiful buncha zucchini and some eggplant and .. Blech... Radishes! Millie: So are ya havvin the meatloaf tonight? It would go on like this all day. Any female who stopped by from another part of the building was similarly quizzed about their food. Elaine: Didja make that sauce you were tawkin' about last week? Yvette: Yeah, but it dint come out so good. Maybe I overdid the cawn stawch.. Elaine: So waddaya havvin' tonight? Yvette: Chicken Marilyn: Howaya makin' it? Ya roastin' it? Fryin'? Cutlets? Millie: That reminds me, ya gotta give me that recipe faw the cutlets with the lemon! All. Day. Long This was years ago, BTW, when everybody made $2 minimum wage. There were tons of people in this office, lots of secretaries, a receptionist (for a business that had maybe one visitor a week) an "office girl" who did virtually nothing. Nowadays, two would be doing the job that 10 people did back then. But I learned a valuable lesson. When around menopausal women, turn the conversation to food.
Heaven forbid you should just tell her you don't wish to be disturbed.
R22 clearly has never worked in an office setting. R21 is clearly 100 years old.
