[quote] No. Maybe you remember this from some other place
Nope. I was here, too. The OP is right.
One of the funniest threads was "The First Time I Had Sex With Kevin Spacey" wherein we all became ESTs, telling of our sexcapades with Kevin. This was around 1998.
It was TUS all the time then
R10 I wrote several of the stories in that thread. It would have been around 2001.
R1/R5 is determined to be dense about this, I see.
When DL was really getting off the ground, Spacey had won Oscar #1 and on his way to Oscar #2. He was constantly in entertainment news, and constantly, if not "endlessly" discussed here.
* TUS was a guess for every blind item around.
* The number of people hit on by Spacey was hard to count.
* We had his friend Dianne, worth so many months of laughs so much that it became a meme.
* We had his 60 Minutes "I'm not gay" story, coupled with being outed on magazine covers, an epic tease v. denial if there was one.
* His young male friends in London, his dog walking and assault in the park.
TUS was the gift that kept on giving...
It's so sad that he's reached his age and has never built a life with anyone.
Kevin Spacey was Datalounge's first Anderson Cooper.
"His young male friends in London, his dog walking and assault in the park."
I remember the thread where we came up with tv movies about the park assault. One was called "The Park Has Eyes"
Do you think he "befriended" any Navy Football players?
This debate about how much Spacey was once discussed here is endless.
Or, at least, constant.
What's with the guy to his left with his tongue hanging out a mile?
Sorry, I meant to his right, our left.
I think older gay guys like to be around younger, happy guys (gay or straight) because when older gay guys were younger they felt nothing by angst and fear over being gay.
It's like childhood slipped away and they want to reclaim it.
I read about some of this in a book called The Velvet Rage.
I wonder if he deliberately stepped away from Hollywood, because of the closet issues? Oh sure, he's got a great gig where he is, but back in the 90s he seemed to want to be the next DeNiro or something.
He was probably told that if he wanted to be a major film actor he had to stay in the closet, but since nobody believe his attempts it must have seemed ridiculous. Did he walk away from Hollywood, or did Hollywood show him the door?
I can make you a star. You know the drill.
"I can make you a star. You know the drill."
Is Miss Thang still putting guys through the casting couch ringer?
you just know Kevin was marching around in his sailor hat and jock strap
Spacey said in some interview that he'd stay at the Old Vic for a few more years then focus back on films. Implicit was the assurance that the work would certainly be there for him.
He's of course done a few film parts while running the theatre and acting on stage. I'm guessing that when he's ready he'll be available - pushing - for more upscale character parts such as Hopkins, Rush, Freeman and Plummer do.
[quote]Kevin Spacey was Datalounge's first Anderson Cooper.
I thought Kevin would be the one to come out first.
R27 once Spacey went on national television saying "I'm not gay" to come out means he either lied, was playing with labels (he thinks he's "bi") or in denial.
Anderson's coming out was a surprise, but he never boxed himself in to a lie.
I remember when Spacey was a hot DL topic. He could still do sexy back then.
If I remember correctly there were several posts about TUS when pictures of him and his pal going "mountain climbing" came out.
I think he is bi and doing a Simon Hughes ie answering no to being gay but being elusive with the bi label.
I remember an interview where he said that he had to eventually tell journalists what he's not but hasn't told anyone what he is.
If he's bi..it makes sense...bi men are all confused assholes that fuck anything that moves and i've heard stories that suggest him to be like this to a tee.
[quote]The Baltimore Sun reports that Spacey might have done push-ups with the Midshipmen ...
Well, wasn't that nice of the Baltimore Sun to say that, when he was actually found doing push-ups ON a Midshipman.
Kevin Spacey is not bisexual. He's a borderline pedophile.
What are you trying to say? Gay or bisexual people are really just pedophiles? You sound like some straight bigot, go back to living in the middle of nowhere.
He'll never come out.
I worked with him in the early 90s right before he started to become really well known. He was dating some chick but screwing tonnes of guys AND women behind her back. Typical bisexual man.
And the denying he's gay flat out and then being evasive - another red flag.
I second he won't come out.
He has never touched a pussy. He is not bi.
r34, I don't think r33 is trying to imply anything about ALL gay/bi men, just that this particular one happens to be a borderline pedo. Albeit poorly worded.
r24, I've heard from friends who work at the Old Vic that he's stopped all that, at least at the OV he has. As of 2009 he was still doing the 'inviting the very young drama school grads playing walk-on roles to share his dressing room' thing but maybe just to watch them, not try for any casting couch deal.
R36 The chick that Kevin Spacey was dating at that time was Dianne Dreyer. Yes, that Dianne. The one he professed his love to at the 2000 Oscars. She is a Script Supervisor. They met on the set of "Glengarry Glen Ross." Even though he did love her, he couldn't control his sexual appetite. And, after those rock climbing pictures came out, it was over.
