McCain voters defecting to Obama are older white males By Gabriel Debenedetti, Mon Oct 22, 2012 9:38am EDT (Reuters) - In today's highly polarized political environment it is somewhat surprising to find voters who backed John McCain in 2008 and now support President Barack Obama, but they exist. Roughly 5 percent of respondents in Reuters/Ipsos polls said they chose the Republican contender in 2008 and will switch to Obama in 2012. This number peaked at around 9 percent two separate times over the summer, according to data collected since January. (more at link)

• My husband is one of these defectors. He believes that Obama will do what's best for the middle class. My husband believes that Mitt Ronmney's tax cuts for the wealthy will have disastrous results for us all. The capital gains tax cut he especially took issue with since he has fanancial background and understands that this would allow the rich to become even richer since many wealthy people make most of their money from the interest paid on their investments and not from a paycheck like the rest of us working stiffs.

• What I would ask the average Republican is "Which Bush policies made your life so much better that you not only want to go back to them, but you want them on steroids?"

• Angry white males realizing that Mittens does NOT have their best interests in mind. (Though unfortunately, my brother is not one of those guys).
