Keurig Coffee
My office uses a Keurig machine for its coffee rather than a traditional brew pot and they supply around 15-20 varieties of coffee for us. I can drink 2 or 3 cups brewed on 8oz mode and don't notice a thing, it's like I'm drinking decaf. I have a pretty low caffeine tolerance, so it's really annoying. Does anyone else experience this with Keurig's coffees?
I've stopped drinking them at work because it's a waste. Now I just brew my own regular coffee (nothing fancy, just stuff from Trader Joe's) and one cup has me tweaked out for hours.
- " one cup has me tweaked out for hours."

- Good to know. Caffeine gives me anxiety attacks, perhaps I could do well with Keurig.
- The shorter the brew time, the less caffeine will be extracted. Espresso has less caffeine for that reason, as well. In addition to that, darker roasts have less caffeine because some is burned off in the roasting process.

- Is there anything I can do re: the brew time on a Keurig? Would brewing the same Kcup twice at 4oz make a difference? The machine is hooked up through a filtered water system, so I can't pour the brewed coffee into the water reserve to rebrew.
- R4, that's what I do at work - I use 2 K-cups for one cup of coffee, each brewed for 4 ounces.
- Coffee brewed through these machines tastes and smells like instant coffee to me.
Save yourselves a ton of money and just buy a jar of Folgers Crystals.
- I would just switch to green tea, or white tea if you have a low caffeine tolerance.
Or just drink a single cup of the coffee that you make. I find Keurig coffee to be not nearly as good as the coffee I make at home.
- I wish I had your problem, OP. I have an intolerence for caffeine. I haven't had a cup of coffee {one month tomorrow) ever since Starbucks gave me a venti of caffeinated instead of decaf. I get really sick and have horrible anxiety if I drink caffeine.
I love coffee :^(
