Obama-backed Battery Maker, in Bankruptcy
Maybe this who investing thing isn't as easy as he thinks it is. I am assuming that he wants the government to make money instead of just funneling money to his friends and campaign contributors. Maybe that's a bad assumption.
[quote]The Waltham, Mass.-based company, which manufactured advanced lithium ion batteries for transportation, electric grid, telecom and commercial markets, has failed to show a profit in its 11-year history, and lost $83 million in the second quarter.
Investment tip 1: It doesn't usually work to invest in a business that has lost money for eleven straight years
[quote]The bankruptcy filing may lead to further criticism of Obama’s funding of alternative energy companies. In August 2009, A123 Systems received a $249 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy.
You mean that losing $249 million on top of losing $535 million Solyndra isn't a good investment record? Even the banks got some of their money back on their bad loans

- With OP's acumen China will be eating our lunch in renewable, advanced, and green technologies in about five years. Governments lend to industry all the time. Some win, some lose. We need to spend as much as possible to be the leader in that new technology, because we can benefit for decades! I guess Bain never made a bad bet?
- Compared to George W. Bush's investment in the Iraq-Afghanistan war, I'd say it's a bargain!
- I'd love to read your article, freeper scum, but there's no room for it in the binder full of women.

- Keep trying to convince yourself you have a thought in your self-loathing head, OP.
- F&F, freeper fundie cunt OP!
- Looks like the OP hit a raw nerve based on the absence of thoughtful, fact-based responses. Congrats OP! Keep it up!
- Stop bumping your own thread, freep.
- Yes, the company went bankrupts, but there is no evidence at all in this article that would lead anyone to conclude that money went to friends and campaign contributors.
So you're the one with nothing "thoughtful and fact-based" to add. So eat a plate of Clint Eastwood's excrement, OP.
- That dog won't hunt, ass OP...
The truthful headline would be "Yet ANOTHER Bush-backed business goes tits-up"...
- op?
