Connie and Carla
Sorry, but this movie makes me laugh.

- It's better than I thought it'd be, and all the bad reviews for it. David Duchovny is proves what a stiff, untalented actor he is, just grins constantly, shows how far you can get with just a pretty face. But I liked the women's performances. Lots of good music. I tend to like drag movies anyway. I'm not going to rave about it, but it's ok.
- I like the Russian mobster going to all of the dinner theaters around the country, and they are all doing Mame.
OP
- Very satisfying, very funny movie. Plus, it has Debbie!
- Very enjoyable and a fun take on SOME LIKE IT HOT...
- Also love it. I think there could be a great sitcom in the idea of two awkward musical theatre fangirls. Throw in some gays too and it could be The Big Bang Theory for showqueens.
Their speeches during their drag performances remind me of Emily Skinner for some reason.

- Exactly, R4.
- It's a terrible movie and an insult to "Some Like It Hot" but it is also one of my guilty pleasures. I have the DVD and watch it at least once a year. Love the scene where they are driving down the road and rip open the bag of cocaine.
- Toni Collette is the bigger star, yet she is billed second to Nia Vardalos
Why?
- Because this was Vardalos' first film after "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", when everyone thought she would be the next big thing. Even that film wasn't that great.

- Toni Collete is an Oscar nominated actress. With her being top billed, the flick would do better internationally.
- I've never thought Nia Vardalos was funny. Sorry.
- Which is why Toni Collette should have been top billed.
- This movie is one of my guilty pleasures. I love it!
- It seems we have a Toni Collette troll
- I saw it tonight on Starz -- cute, but not something I'd have paid to see.
Roger Ebert got it right when he wrote that it plays like an amateur-theatre production, but one you'd like better if your friends were in it.
Like OP, I did think the running [italic]Mame[/italic] gag was funny.
- Nia Vardalos is an unfunny, untalented hack. It's a crime that this woman was allowed to make not one movie, but two. And a television series based on the hideous, overrated first film.
- Talk about ripping off a classic, Some Like It Hot.
- It's a fun movie. I haven't seen it for ages and must watch it again...

*And* [italic]Victor/Victoria.[/italic] Plus it borrowed the [italic]To Wong Foo[/italic] conceit that drag queens stay cross-dressed at all times.
