Why do so many Americans not see what a sociopath Mitt Romney is?

• It surprises me that no one in the media has interviewed psychologists to get their take on Romney. Sociopaths make up 4% of the population and they rise to the top like cream: there tends to be a lot of them in positions of political power (they are ambitious and ruthless). Usually they manage to "pass" for normal, but Romney's total lack of a conscience is plainly evident. One of the hallmark signs of a sociopath is how they treat their pets, so the Seamus incident was a smoking gun. That he felt entitled to tackle his gay classmate and cut off the young mans' hair is likewise an appalling transgression, as well as the cruel "pranks" that he played on some of his teachers. The reason it is so important to get the word out that he is a sociopath is because sociopaths are not capable of caring for other people. He doesn't have anyone's interest in mind but his own. He doesn't care about Mormons, white people, NRA members, Evangelicals, anti-abortion activists, the economy or even big business--except where he thinks he can exploit those aspects of his identity for his own benefit. He doesn't have the capacity to love his wife or his children. He wants power. If he's voted into office he'll be a corrupt dictator - of the most powerful country in the world. Not good given this age of nuclear proliferation and bio-chemical weaponry.

• OP, that's an excellent question. I can only imagine their (possibly unacknowledged) racism blinds them to it. They hate Obama so much, they don't care about who they replace him with, and they haven't taken a close look at Romney at all. Because even the most cursory look at Romney shows that he'd be worse than Obama in every single imaginable way. Except the whole white thing.

• The way he treated that woman was absolutely vile. That smarmy fake laugh, then he walked away to sign an AUTOGRAPH, what a piece of shit. He side steeped her question, in same way he doesn't give any real facts in his speeches. Unfortunately, the woman didn't confront him with then most basic of questions, "WHY don't you think every American taxpayer deserves health care, WHY is that wrong, because that IS what the Affordable Health Care Act IS about?" The problem is, the mainstream media doesn't show these types of confrontations with him, people need to be exposed to exactly how this vile evil sociopath REALLY feels about the average American.

Bush was because Bush's advisors kept him isolated to protect him, politically, whereas Mitt probably doesn't want any contact at all with ordinary folk. • Most voters do not know the issues. That is why they are so susceptible to political ads and posturing by candidates. Been this way for a very long time. Frustrating as hell. Imagine most middleclass white men are voting for a man whose policies will stick it to them while the very rich get richer. Why do they vote this way? Romney is such a sociopath, when the woman kept trying to ask her question, he switched gears and then started to robotically ask the woman if she liked his old health care idea. WTF??!!!
