Camus on homosexuality

I was trying to find something online about Albert Camus' attitude to homosexuality, because I vaguely remember reading something about him being homophobic in a Truman Capote biography. All I could find was this passage he apparently wrote about a gay novel: [quote]Cet amour est évoqué sans complaisance ni coquetterie, ce qui, pour finir, le rend plus respectable que la chiennerie dont nos scènes de boulevard parlent sans relâche à d'inlassables spectateurs. C'est pourquoi on souhaite à ce livre de n'être pas trop souillé par les ricanements qui servent de contre-chant, chez nous, aux choses de l'amour. Unfortunately, my French is only very rudimentary. Can somebody translate it for me?
