Allegedly from natural causes - but wasn't he a heavy drinker?
RIP
Why is The Sixth Sense never re-run?

RIP, drunken rightwing douche.

I heard Mary Ann Mobley obtained diving certification just to survive his DUI tours.

Shimply trag-hic.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | October 13, 2012 6:47 PM |
Please people. Have some respect. It is always sad when someone once handsome dies.
Why there could even be someone on this board that at one time masturbated to his image.
Think of them if not poor Gary.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | October 13, 2012 6:51 PM |
He tried to kill a Charlie's Angel at least once.

Tom Daley was her diving coach.

OP, LIVER DISEASE is classified as a "natural cause"...
R1, "The Sixth Sense" only ran one season - not enough episodes to warrant a re-run or syndication
In blowdry 70s, he was smoking hot in that Jameson Parker way...
by Anonymous | reply 8 | October 13, 2012 7:13 PM |
What an asshole. I wonder if he had alzheimers and was self medicating
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 13, 2012 7:14 PM |
Dead drunky.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 13, 2012 7:22 PM |
It's amazing he made it to 74.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 13, 2012 7:25 PM |
He was a Repug.

The Emmy Award Winning Gary Collins.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 13, 2012 7:29 PM |
Sixth Sense was an hour drama hacked to pieces to accomodate Night Gallery's half hour running time in syndication. It's a legitimate question. Night Gallery also had an hour long timeslot and some of its shorter stories are heavily padded with stock footage in syndication. But Night Gallery has been released on DVD in its original form at least.

He got a DUI 4 yrs ago at 4 times the legal limit! He would've had to down 10 to 12 drinks an hour to register .29. Imagine being as drunk as you've ever been (and it probably wasn't as drunk as he was) and then getting behind the wheel of a car. What an asshole.

Was he separated from Mary Ann Mobley?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 13, 2012 7:39 PM |
R14 I would see those mutilated Sixth Sensers on Night Gallery and get so irritated!
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 13, 2012 7:39 PM |
R17, read the link.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 13, 2012 7:44 PM |
You can kind of excuse adult drunk drivers from that era since the perils of drinking and driving weren't popularized until the 1970s.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | October 13, 2012 7:44 PM |
I'll never forget when He hosted Miss America Bert Parks made an appearance and was treated very badly by Collins...
by Anonymous | reply 21 | October 13, 2012 7:54 PM |
He and Mary Ann were frequent guests on that 70s game show which featured married couples. One of the partners would wear headphones while the other one answered questions about their relationship. I can't remember the name of it. I think it was hosted by Bert Convy.

I remember Gary Collins did a few British mystery shows which were always aired late night on ABC.
I was always a bit of an insomniac, so I was always up late, even though I had to get up early for school at the time, I recall being up until 2 or 3AM watching the late night ABC line up. They also showed "The Avengers" every night!
There was no late night news at that time, though I think Charlie Rose did have a late night live news show with three other anchors, Felicia Jeter, who was really good and Ii wonder what happened to her. I think the other guy's last name was Dowd and the other woman I can't remember her name.
Anyway, in this ABC/British series series, Collins always played a guy scheming to marry a wealthy woman, then kill her. Wish I could could remember the name of this series, I definitely know they were filmed in Britain. IIRC, his wife also appeared in one of the shows with him.

I was certain he was dead already. I though Todd Bridges was the only surviving Diff'rent Strokes kid.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | October 13, 2012 8:04 PM |
I think I remember those R23. Didn't Joanna Pettet do one too?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 13, 2012 9:07 PM |
So handsome when he was younger
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 13, 2012 9:11 PM |
What was legendary about him?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | October 13, 2012 9:12 PM |
He was in Saved by the Bell, not Different Strokes

Father Reginald Dempsey has requested that the candles surrounding the coffin at the funeral Mass be left unlit.
Just in case.

I saw them recently on youtube but the guy's account has been closed.
The series was called 'Thriller'.

It seems there are still a whole bunch of them on YT...not sure if the G. Collins one is one of them though.

Tattletales. I remember Charlie Brill and Mitzi McCall, as well as Bobby Van and Elaine Joyce also being frequent guests on that show.

At the time of his death, Gary had an even smaller penis than he possessed in his youth. Often one saw stains in his psnts crotch that looked like he had spilt a drink, but most often he had simply pissed his pants.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | August 1, 2014 12:24 AM |
Charles Nelson Reilly was also on Tattletales -- with his "girlfriend."

by Anonymous | reply 49 | April 4, 2015 5:02 AM |
I thought he was hot back in his "Sixth Sense" days. He still looks yummy in reruns.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | April 4, 2015 6:01 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 56 | June 17, 2018 8:11 PM |
He was such an average soul. Am I wrong? Correct me if so.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | June 17, 2018 8:30 PM |
Yup.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | June 17, 2018 8:35 PM |
R15, really? Was he part Native American or Inuit? Who else could keep it going with that BAC? Someone check his background. Irish had to be in there for sure. Any human would be in a coma with those BAC levels. And he would have been a senior at 70. Holy shit!
by Anonymous | reply 59 | June 17, 2018 8:35 PM |
You know what, people? I think I see some shovel shaped teeth lurking in R8 early photo. No pure white person could pull off those BA levels especially at that age. No way.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | June 17, 2018 8:38 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 61 | June 17, 2018 8:52 PM |
