As if a mannequin was damaged in a bargain basement fire and repaired with plastic wrap and Cheez-Whiz.
Not gonna work
She looks like Nicole Kidman.
She looks a little too plasticized.
Scrawny chicken neck.
I'll never understand why Nicole Kidman is considered beautiful. She is too thin. If she gained 20 lbs she might look human. As it is, she looks like a severely starved mannequin.
She don't even look like her, word.
While she looks okay in the photo, she doesn't resemble Grace Kelly at all.
I take it that's a still showing Her Serene Highness AFTER the car accident.
She is unbelievably beautiful. Both of them. Rare angelic quality.
Miracle of fillers and photoshop.
R9, I know you smoke marijuana to treat the symptoms of your glaucoma, but there's no reason to lace it with angel dust and cocaine.
I agree, R9. They are both amazingly beautiful women.
I don't want or expect an impersonation in this kind of role. Mimicking a person's looks and gestures instead of getting at the essence is shallow and never works.
I'm looking forward to the movie.
She is way too old to play the young Grace Kelly.
Coincidentally, Nicole's fugly BFF, Naomi Watts, is doing a poor imitation of Princess Diana in an entirely different biopic. It'll be fun to hear these common pieces of trash play aristocrats.
Amazing transformation for Kidman. She looks eerily like Nicole Kidman.
There has already been a Grace Kelly biopic, on the level of the ones on Audrey Hepburn, Jackie O, Liz & Dick etc - who likes or watches these fabrications? stay at home fraus maybe? I think It was Cheryl Ladd the last time round - is this going to be any better? and Nicole is too old and bland and looks nothing like Kelly.
Cheryl Ladd was a godawful Grace Kelly, but more age-appropriate than Nicole.
Grace was a great beauty, Nicole, while attractive and glam, is NOT. I so would have picked an unknown actress in her late 20s/early 30s with a strong resemblance to Grace. This is as bad as Meryl Streep portraying Julia Child.
sigh... really? we're gonna run with "nicole kidman is just not beautiful"? do you get that much of a rush from pointless and rather silly contrarianism? she looks very much like grace kelly.
The smoke from your crack pipe is blurring your vision R18. She looks NOTHING like Grace.
Grace Kelly was for sale to the highest bidder. The only reason she could arguably be seen as an "aristocrat" is that the highest bidder was the prince of a casino.
Was Grace really that beautiful and elegant, or was it more very good makeup and lighting?
No, she actually was that pretty. At least in the beginning. Near the end, she porked up from so much boozing and eating good French food.
That was pre-paparazzi days, R21. It was much easier to maintain an illusion.
Who do we think exemplified the blonde ice queen look more? Grace Kelly or Lana Turner?
January Jones looks more like Grace Kelly in my opinion. If she could manage a Brahmin accent she might be more believable in the role. I couldn't watch Hemingway and Gelhorn because of Kidman. The last time I thought Kidman was attractive was in the early nineties. Batman and To Die For. Beautiful eyes, alabaster skin and great hair. She looked so much better as a redhead.
Grace Kelly owns that title, r24. Lana was more of a truck driver's dream. But in a good way:)
Grace Kelly is overrated, in my opinion. She's pretty but also boring. She was blond, blue eyed and had great teeth. But what else can you say about her? There's nothing interesting about her face. If she hadn't married that prince she would have been long forgotten.
Also, I don't think that's from the movie. I saw it in a recent magazine photo shoot she did.
R5 she was truly stunning in her prime, the Moulin Rouge/The Others period. Then she fucked it all up.
White, blond, blue-eyed and tiny-nosed is supposed to be enough, r27. We're supposed to stand in awe of any famous woman who meets those criteria. Haven't you seen the Most Beautiful Women threads on DL? Whiter than the Daughters of the American Revolution.
what r29 said.
[quote]There has already been a Grace Kelly biopic, on the level of the ones on Audrey Hepburn, Jackie O, Liz & Dick etc - who likes or watches these fabrications?
I've never watched any of them. OTOH, the ones mentioned seem they would be at least more interesting than the one they're planning for Steve McQueen.
Who should get a biopic treatment after Steve McQueen? Tony Danza? Hugh Beaumont? Ed McMahon? Jerry Vale? Jaye P. Morgan? Let's hear a few more suggestions.
Yup, that's Nicole Kidman not even made up to look like Grace Kelly.
This could be the next Mommie Dearest!
I agree January Jones looks more like Grace Kelly; but January Jones cannot act at all and would be dreadful in the part. At least Nicole Kidman can act.
The perfect casting would have been Naomi Watts--she both looks like Kelly and is a superb actor.
What's this movie going to be about? The marriage, or the early years in Monaco (her growing realization Rainier and the court were never going to let her act again, as she had assumed she could eventually when she married him, and that he was having affairs right and left), or the later years (the boozing, the reconcilation with Rainier, the fights with Caroline over her romantic partners)?
They could do a thing where January Jones mimes the part and Nicole voices it, like in the musicals.
Naomi Watts is not beautiful enough and too old to play Grace. Hell, she's too old to play Diana!
A large mutant potato will be in the part of Prince Albert.
I don't know what comes before it but the ending will be totally Thelma and Louise.
[quote]Naomi Watts is not beautiful enough and too old to play Grace.
Naomi Watts is the same age as Nicole Kidman.
[quote]A large mutant potato will be in the part of Prince Albert.
Our product placement agreement prohibits remarks of that nature.
And Nicole is too old as well, R42. Maybe if this film was made 10 years ago...
[quote]And Nicole is too old as well, [R42]. Maybe if this film was made 10 years ago...
Oh, don't worry about that.
It's not about her entire life, R37. I think it takes place in the early 60s and it's about some behind the scenes politics at Monaco.
January Jones has kind of a coarse face and doesn't resemble Kelly as much as people say she does.
Looks nothing like her.
[quote]She looks like Nicole Kidman.
[quote]She looks a little too plasticized.
Sorry for the double post.
elizabeth banks could pull this off. kidman sucks as kelly.
I think Nic can pull it off. She is a way more gifted actress than people give her credit for.
Having said that, I'm surprised the producers didn't seek out the other classical blondes du jour, such as January Jones, Malin Akerman or Juno Temple.
Flat, no majic, no mystery, blah.
Yall some hating bitches up in here.
Amazing Likeness, She Looks Just Like Nicole Kidman
[quote]Amazing Likeness, She Looks Just Like Nicole Kidman
And just as lifelike!
Hey, does Nicole have a new nose?
Kidman has been trying to look like Kelly on and off for about the last 10 years. She is somewhat similar looking, but she still can't pull it off.
January Jones? No way, Kidman definitely is closer to Kelly than Jones.
January Jones does look more like Grace Kelly than Nicole Kidman, but like others have said she can't act. The only reason she is any good on Mad Men is because she IS Betty Draper, I don't think there's much acting going on there with her and that part.
Is this going to be another flop on Ms. Kidman's resume?
Some dumbass PA gave the makeup people a photo of Princess Charlene instead of Grace!
I've met Nicole Kidman. This was a while ago, maybe 2001 or 2002. I have never found her remotely interesting or attractive on film. In real life she was stunning. I couldn't even believe it.
I've met many celebrities and I can't think of one who looked so much better in real life.
She did look good in 2001. She does not look good now.
I guess my point was that saying Kidman isn't attractive is sort of ridiculous. Has she fucked up her looks? Sure. Has she aged out of them? Perhaps. But she's stunning, or was.
Grace was in her 50s when she died...so Nicole is not necessarily "too old" to play the part.
I think she looks lovely.
WOW, You people are so mean. She doesn't have to look exactly like Grace Kelly. She is beautiful in her own way just like the rest of us are beautiful in our own way. Don't be so mean!
Oh, OK. We'll only say nice things about celebrities from now on.
really fucked up the eyes.
I've always pitied poor Nicole Kidman. Always chasing that Nordic beauty that will always elude her. She's a mottled, frizzy haired redhead with drooping eyelids who can't accept herself as is. She reminds me of Michael Jackson in this way.
Cate Blanchett doesn't look like Katharine Hepburn either.
But so what?
[quote]Grace Kelly, age 33 and having given up her acting career to focus on being a full time princess, uses her political maneuvering behind the scenes to save Monaco while French Leader Charles de Gaulle and Monaco’s Prince Rainier III are at odds over the princi¬pality’s standing as a tax haven.
I'm not buying Nicole as a 33 year old Grace. Nicole is looking OLD.
She was on Ellen suddenly after 8 years and threw up pictures of her young kids and pics from her Grace Kelly movie. As if people had missed her. She is so much like Tom Cruise now, but female. Frightening woman.
Kidman is lovely, and a wonderful actress.
I think she could have played successfully some of the great women's roles of the 1940s. Imagine Kidman instead of Kate Winslet in "Mildred Pierce."
NK was plugging an Australian vitamin company with Ellen. Everyone in the audience got Botox and a trip to Australia.
There's a lot of photoshop in that picture of Kidman. She's very pretty but not that flawless anymore.
Did you see me rubbing my cooch on Jimmy Kimmel's lap? I love being 45 and a little desperate for attention. You were supposed to love me.
