How do you maintain your weight?
Losing weight seems relatively easy, but how do you maintain your weight?
- Why would losing your weight be easy but maintaining it not be?
The trick for both is the same: eat sensibly and exercise.
- chicken pot pies!

- Near starvation works out pretty well for me.
- What R1 said, if you think there is something different about losing weight and maintaining you are looking at it wrong. You have to make a conscious choice to care about your body and live healthy. Once you do that your weight will be fine as you aren't stuffing your body with crap.
- Step on the bathroom scales every morning just before you get in the shower.
Your body weight will fluctuates by about 2 lbs from day to day. Anything over a 2 lb increase and you know it's time to decrease calories until you're back to your ideal weight.
Just get yourself some good, easy to read, accurate scales and leave them out where you can step on them at the same time each day.
- All you can eat buffets and lots of late night comfort foods before bed.

- Eat things you like but in smaller portions. Don't read, surf the internet, or watch TV while you eat. Learn to enjoy every bite of those smaller portions and you won't feel as if you're starving. Pay attention to your food during your meal.

- Agree with R6. Check the scale every day even after you've reached your "goal" weight - it's part of a lifestyle of being conscientious, and lets you know when you're "falling off the wagon" and need to cut back or adjust your routines a bit. Also it's a nice little ego boost every day you do manage to keep the weight.
It is a bit easier to maintain weight than lose it, though - from my experience I can "let go" a bit more and eat more junk food / drink / skip exercise without really fluctuating. But the minute the pounds creep up, I eat more healthy and get more sleep. Not veering from extreme to extreme, just making minor changes and keeping things in moderation.
