• Charlie. I once asked him about Vincent Foucade. Who else at DL would even know who that was, let alone be able to come back with details? Great stories. IMHO his dish on the Duke of Windsor is still the best gossip DL has ever produced. EVER. Unlike that tedious Old Hollywood cow Bobsie Boo or whatever her name was who a stream of old queens & fraus on DL lickspittled to on multiple threads, yet she could never cough up a single decent anecdote.

• Blue Agave was a well-loved poster of original blind items from the early days of the board. His threads were sporadic but always highly anticipated. He apparently died several years ago. White Belt Man was a prolific poster known for his irritatingly cheery persona and endless, banal lists of random pop culture effluvia ("What was your favorite toy as a kid?" "Who was your favorite Bugaloo?" "What brand of toilet paper did your mom buy?") His red-tagging for making an anonymous racist post kicked off the final battle of the auth/anon war, which was so epic we couldn't even discuss it for years afterwards for fear of being banned. Many say he still posts here anonymously, or under another handle.

• There was a dominatrix who posted here for a while and she pops in very occasionally. Magdelene? She always had great posts.

And the names previous posters have mentioned. All these people have contributed something good to this site. I know I'm forgetting some,too.

• The absence of Tequila Mockingbird's humor is sorely felt on the board today. I'm not sure if everyone realized how many familiar posters she took with her when she left. Slightly off subject, but all the back and forth about Poor Sick Robin reminded me of Terry, the Most Pathetic Gay in All of Christendom. It's been so long, I can't remember if he actually posted here, or if we just read his blog and talked about it here a la Lisa Welchel or MichFest. Can anyone else recall?

After the death, he came back and thanked those who had been supportive and identified himself. David Ehrenstein was all over Salon's message board not long ago. Don't know if he still is. There are very few I don't miss (David E is one). The board was far more colorful when they were around.

• Kipper - I remember when she was recuperating from breast reduction surgery, and was posting from bed with an ice compress on her chest. She said drugs and DL were the only things that made her feel better. Price Leatherbarrow. Tequila Mockingbird. RIP Blue Agave.

• Cancer Stick Man and Valiant Thor - possibly one and the same - made detailed posts about the MI complex and otherworldliness from a position of evident sanity. Catering Guy was promising, but his indiscretions were probably traceable. I'd also like Charlie to share again about The Duke of Windsor.

• I wonder who Tequila Mockingbird really was. He was far too clever to be a simple drag queen He invented the whole "crying as I type" meme.

• r60 - And I believe he also coined the very funny but not as well-known "evacuating as I type" meme during one of the threads about a Hurricane.

• Tequila was delicious. I used to know some of his other personalities but I've forgotten them now. I believe Michael K of DListed posted here anonymously before he started that site. I also remember Rosie O when she was briefly infatuated with us. It was nice when Michael Musto, Ted C, that woman who wrote The Glass Castle and other national gossip columnists posted here on the regular. Between them and the hair/makeup people, this place had some incredible gossip. Christ, I've been on this board for 13 years. I've never had a job that lasted that long. I've never had a relationship last that long. And now I'm sad.

• I agree Tequila Mockingbird was very funny, but she was also pretty much an asshole. And uncool politically, either a Republican or very conservative Dem. She loved Reagan and thought Clinton was too liberal. When Reagan died she was pissed most DL'ers were saying good riddance. I always assumed Mockingbird was still around but had just stopped posting with the name. If she really did just disappear all of a sudden, and never returned, she's probably dead.

• I always enjoy (and often agree with) Hollywood Hills' posts. I think he (she) is still around, just doesn't seem to post as regularly but that's probably because there are fewer genuinely interesting threads about old Hollywood. How many Joan, Bette, Lucy and JUdy threads can you contribute to without repeating yourself? When I first joined DL there was an "Ava Gardner on What's My Line?" thread that went on for 100s of posts and a couple of weeks. That's what hooked me.

I still remember his his serious warnings at least 24 hours before Hurricane Katrina, specifically about the danger of levee breach in New Orleans. No one in the major media, and certainly not in the White House, seemed at all concerned until it actually happened. Skinwoman's advice has served me well and saved me money for years. I also love josh, with the lower-case j. I kind of think he's still here sometimes. Before he went underground he used to post some of the wittiest, smartest and yeah, troll-teasing shit on the site. Why some on DL turned on him so viciously, especially after he included us in the dedications in his first novel, is beyond me. And then there's paul--is he gone? Loved his politics and his style. The only thing that got to her was when Tequila authenticated as "peg" and then everyone started posting as peg. The webmaster finally added a script that if you typed peg it would appear as "flame bait". That was the end of peg. It got the bitchness in DL going. There was also Anita Price-Czech who wouild come out with some funny posts. I do miss Blue Agave and Torta, Betty Bowers, and Tequila. Whatever became of JonEric? I used to like to read ROWACs posts since we both enjoyed opera, a subject rarely seen on DL nowadays.
