What happened to his career? A few years ago he was doing concerts at every big theatre across the country and now it seems for this upcoming season he has 6 concerts lined up...
and broadway doesn't seem to be knocking-
Whats the story here?
He's waiting for a musical version of King Lear. Hopefully it will come before he gets too old for the part.
ITA -- one of the two times I've *ever* cried at a play or musical was at his reprise of "So In Love" in "Kiss Me Kate" near the end, under a single spot. Awesome -- I don't use that word lightly.
Is everyone going to his big NYC concert tonight????
Is he black ?
He's a very nice guy, charming, smart, and he has a wonderful singing voice. He just can't act. His "Man of La Mancha" was ten minutes of "The Impossible Dream" surrounded by two hours of "What's My Line?" Of course, setting the musical inside a giant orange juicer didn't help the show.
R4 -- his father was one of the Tuskegee Airmen. You do the math. Nimrod.
GSN runs old "$25,000 Pyramid" shows from when he was on "Trapper John, M. D.".
Hard to believe that young guy with the mullet, who went by Brian Mitchell back then, is the same guy.
