Watched a little of Dorian Gray. Has that irritating thing so many indie films do where someone walks almost directly into the camera before turning at the last minute, their back to it as the camera hovers a bit. Also, meh lighting.

- You've stumbled upon the entertaining and sometimes fabulist Duncan Roy.
I find a little of his writing goes a long way, and a lot goes way too far. His autobiographical 2002 film "AKA" is genuinely interesting and quite good -- an account of a working class boy from grim beginnings who came to impersonate a Lord, run up some bills in Paris, and land himself in jail.

- As a warning, "AKA" takes some patience. It starts slowly and roughly, feels very low budget in places, and some of the acting is uncomfortably stilted. Still, I like it and think it's both good and interesting.

He's also, clearly, learning a lot of lessons the very hard way.
If nothing else, I'm sure what's happened to him will lead to something. A very good book or even a film. He should write the book first and then maybe let someone else make the movie.

What's turned out has been very different from what I expected.
