http%3A//www.advocate.com/arts-entertainment/television/2012/08/03/days-our-lives-star-tweets-support-chick-fil
- She's a big twat.
Jason Brooks
- It's. Not. About. Freedom. Of. Speech.
Dear god... if you haven't read this essay, which clearly states exactly what it IS and ISN'T about, please do so. And spread it around to anyone else who hasn't read it. Like Melissa Reeves.
http://www.owldolatrous.com/?p=288
- The best think she ever did was spread her legs for that hot piece of man Jason Brooks. Scott Reeves, who is a big fundie, made her confess her sins in front of the entire congregation.
- She's a Chick-Fulla-Hate.
- Seems like she's blocked her twitter account except to her most loyal fans. Would love to ask how she felt when her hubby dragged her in front of his congregation to denounce her adultery and how this allowed her to become a better Xian.
- She's a shining light on the sanctity of marrisage, isn't she ???
- Greg Rikaart was really taking her to task on twitter today. I wish more day time actors would come out and do so. Greg, along with others, said that she's not responding and appears to be blocking all tweets. So it appears she's a bigot and a coward.
- Has Greg come out? Seems she may out him, if he hasn't.
- Say what? Is at true about her husband making her confess the scarlet letter in front of the entire church? I read IMDB and there was no mention of it.
Anyone have details? I used to see her on Days when my sister watched it back in the late eighties.
- She's a supporting player on a soap. Yawn.
- So...she is entitled to her opinion. What the hell is wrong with you people?
Cooper
- She's worse than Hitler.
Stefano%20DiMera
- R11, she's entitled to express her opinion. She's not entitled to be free of criticism.
- Bradford Barash (Johnny on GH) slammed her on twitter as well. And he's in that GH singing group Port Chuck with Scott Reeves. So that could get interesting on the GH set....
- Meant Brandon Barash.
And here's a link to his comment. More about Chick-Fil-A than about Melissa Reeves. But it's a good one..
http://daytimeconfidential.zap2it.com/2012/08/03/general-hospitals-brandon-barash-goes-in-on-chick-fil-a?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
- Makes me wonder how she really felt about the gay Will storyline.
- R9
Yes, the affair with Jason Brooks is true. Both were married at the time. Her husband caught them screwing in her dressing room.
He blew up and demande3d she quit DOOL even though she was under contract. He said she had to quit or he'd divorce her and take the kids. She was at the height of her fame on DOOL and she walked away in breech of her contract.
TPTB sued her (this is how all the sordid details came out)and the case went to court. She had to pay mega bucks to DOOL for breeching her contract.
Her husband did drag her in front of the church for her to confess . They left LA and became super "religious".
I am so proud of the fans lamblasting her for her stance. I'm also tickled that so many of them are calling her out on her infidelity. I bet she was shocked so many knew about it.
The first day it was page after page of scathing comments. She then blocked all of those people. It's still going on 2 days later.
- This should go over real well at Days of Our Lives...with almost no soap operas left on television, anything that could cause a dip in ratings over at NBC could spell the end of of job for that adulterous whore's coworkers.
Kate%20Roberts%20DiMira
- I keep reading this as Melissa Rivers.
A shame Scott Reeves is such a whack job. Always thought he was cute. Oh well, Mel Gibson was beautiful once too. Exceptional beauty masking dark hearts.
- DOOL and GH are run by out gay men.
GH's gay headwriter even tweeted opposition to what MR said. Talk about awkward considering he's the HW for her husband.
- Thanks, r17. Do you have a link to the website with the fan comments? Tia.
- I know how ridiculous this sounds...but this hurts my feelings.
I'm fully aware that these actors are not their characters & I know soaps aren't real....I am a sane functioning adult.
I have watched that show for at least 25 years...and this makes me sad.
- I always had a soft spot for Jennifer Horton, but now Melissa Reeves had to make this comment...awful. Bad, bad choice. Now they're really give it to her at ONTD.
- I wonder if she'd still go to Chick Fil A if her son turns out to be gay?
I'm sure they'd end up 'tolerating' his 'choice.'
- R24, wouldn't it be a scream if her son ended up doing gay porn for Sean Cody like Katherine Kelly Lang's son did last year?
- I liked Jennifer Horton too.
- Where's Tricia Dennison when you need her?
Ryan%20MacNeil
- Don't worry, r22. I know how you feel. It does make me feel genuinely sad when I hear people say things like what MR did.
- Has Alison Sweeney said anything?
- I'm sorry, but you queens are so dumb. You are really dumb. Chick Fil-A was at least honest. Do you numb nuts really think there are other companies that don't feel the same way?
Antoine
- R22, I'm 35. I stopped watching soaps when I was 17, and even I'm disappointed in her.
- Sure there are other companies that silently feel the dame way, but CFA is being vocally hostile. That puts them in a different category.
- She needs a good p.r. person to step in.
I honestly think silence speaks volumes.
If this really were about free speech then she'd have stepped forward by now to clarify her statements to say: "Truly sorry, everyone; I was supporting free speech. In the words of Bristol Palin: 'I am not a homophobic!'"
Or something like that.
She hasn't and she's retreated into her world where other Christian-loving wives will support her (except Becky because, you know, her brother's one of the 'gays.')
She'll take her kids to church every Sunday and teach them to love others -- except of course the ones who are gay and want equal rights.
Am I wrong here?
- R30 I know some (Supreme Court and Romney) think corporations are people, but I doubt any of them think they have feelings.
People were pissed off that CFA gave money that found its way to Exodus with their ex Gay therapy and to Focus on the family which lobbied congress to not condemn the Uganda's Kill the Gays bill. Now Focus is trying to backtrack on this, but their ministry under Rick Warren were known to be chummy with the Ugandan pastors who supported the bill & may have helped setting it up.
In addition, CFA also gave to anti gay groups whose purpose is to stop things like gay adoption & marriage.
Let's not pretend that Chick Fil A CEO is some harmless 'Christian' whose free speech rights were being violated. He's a man who actively pursues eliminating gay's civil rights.
In addition, lots of anecdotal evidence that he's also an anti semite who wants no Jews in his restaurants.
- The opinion is irrelevant.
It's the actual donating of funding to virulently anti-gay organizations that persecute gays at home and abroad.
- For me, it's the "Appreciation Day" aspect that's offensive -- as in "We appreciate you sticking to your guns and standing up against those awful homos". Quietly eat at Chick Fil A, none of us will know nor care, but support this, especially so loud and smug, and you are giving us (some of her show's fans in this case) a major Fuck You. And it becomes a much bigger issue.
Knew her in the 80s when she was a rather cool young woman. Sad to see where she went, illicit affair with co-worker prompting it or not.
And don't even get me started on any gay man or woman who would respect that "Appreciation Day" bullshit. Insane.
- Soap stars are so associated with their characters that this was a dumb move on her part.
Alice Horton would have been soooo accepting of Will.
People will perceive that Jennifer is not.
The girl's range is limited.
- What a sacrifice these God-fearin' folk' have made. They were willing to stand in line all day for chicken sandwiches... because spending those hours volunteering at a hospital or homeless shelter would've been "socialism."
- Her poor "husband" Matthew Ashford must be devestated by her bigotry and silence.

- R33
Becky Herbst's brother is gay ? Cool.
- Typical see-through Republican rethoric. Spinning and twisting the issue at hand into a totally different angle. Freedom of Speech, eh?
- Funny comment .... she's blocking people who don't agree with her on Twitter. So much for supporting free speech, cunt.
- Missy doesn't seem very bright. Branco Tweeted that a former castmate verified that in an email.
- r2
Just because some 'mo writes a blog doesn't make it right.
The bottom line is they are entitled to their opinion.
If you don't like it eat at McDonalds.
- WHo is saying their not entitled to their opinion, R44? Or are you saying we're not entitled to ours? Funny concept, freedom of speech. It works both ways (not that this is an actual issue of freedom of speech for as far as I can tell, the government isn't involved in this story).
- With the number of of gays and lesbians in film and theater, I don't comprehend how any actor or actress can be homophobic, much less state it. These are their friends, coworkers and peers they are speaking of. They are humans. This says a lot about the intelligence of many folks in the biz.
Will Missy get fired over this?
- I wouldn't know who Melissa Reeves is if she came up and planted her twat on my face.
- It kind of IS about freedom of speech. Three different mayors of large cities came out against free speech and freedom of association. A company can limit your freedoms (as long as they do not discriminate), you can quit working there if you don't like it, or you can quit giving them your business. But when the GOVERNMENT attempts to limit your freedoms either directly or indirectly, then protests are appropriate - such as the "buycott" last Wed.
- It's incredible that any poster on DL would argue against anyone's right to free speech. Such a load of crap.
- The R48 's need to educate themselves. Try reading this first.
Freedom of speech fine, this isn't what this debacle is about.
http://www.owldolatrous.com/%3Fp%3D288
- None of the points in that article (R50) in any way refute my point at R48. Anyone is free to protest and try to change a company's practices by applying economic pressure. But when the GOVERNMENT threatens to prohibit a business from expanding into certain areas because of its religious or social stance, then there is a real constitutional problem. Had those mayors kept their mouths shut, then there wouldn't have been the backlash. It is the people's right to boycott a company, it is NOT the government's right to do so (provided that company has not broken any laws.) Protest away and keep applying pressure for Chick-Fil-A to change their policies, but also tell your government to butt out of private enterprise. Those mayors need to be focused on job creation and crime reduction, not on appeasing certain groups for purely POLITICAL reasons. I haven't heard of any right wing governors or mayors coming out and saying that they will do their best to block a socially liberal company from expanding into their jurisdiction, and if they do, then they should be called on the carpet for doing so.
- Missy Reeves did an interview after she and her husband Scott moved back to California saying she was happy they would be raising their children among diversity.
I guess gays don't fit into her definition of diversity.
Or perhaps she had a knee-jerk reaction to seeing a fellow fundy catching hell and decided she had to get in on the fray. No matter, she obviously didn't think this one through, or bother to find out who CFA is actually funding.
- [quote]Had those mayors kept their mouths shut, then there wouldn't have been the backlash.
Bullshit. The fundies hate fags. They would have been out in droves anyway. Those mayors may have added fuel to the fire but the did NOT cause the support day for chickenshit fil-a.
- R40, no I just made up the name 'Becky' as one her likely neighbors...you know, like Peg, Cheryl, Julie, MARY! and all the other made up names on DL.
- I wonder if Stephanie Cameron's available these days...
- I eat shit.
R48/51
- Thanks, R54. Rebecca Herbst does not have a brother, gay or otherwise.
- I'm wondering if, instead of trying to contact Missy via Twitter, people should start writing to her at Days.
- I went to look up Stephanie cameron and this is what you immediately read on her IMDB:
Stephanie Cameron (I)
Actress
Trivia: Is NOT related to 'Kirk Cameron'
She obviously does not wish to be confused with the Cameron family. This is about all that is listed on her IMDB. Made me laugh.
- It's disgusting how many fraus are saying the ol' "I am straight, and I love gays but she has the right to her opinion!" with the expectation that gay Days fans need to shut the fuck up and stop complaining. Missy Reeves apologists are so annoying!
- Just a reminder of what she gave up in order to live the fundie lifestyle with her pocket-sized husband.
http://oi48.tinypic.com/20uz8m8.jpg
- R51 you're kind of a dumbass. Cities vote and decide on what business is allowed in their cities all the times. And it's done especially by the LOUD MOUTH RIGHT WING.
Remember the 911 Mosque---A whole lot of Fundies and their POLITICIANS tried to block that.
Everytime there's a STRIP CLUB, or a sex toy shop or anything remotely sexual--Fundies tries to block it or tries to block how they run their business. Witness the strip club in Miami fighting because all the straight ones allow full nudity but they're trying to take that away from the gay one.
There are many times cities tries to block having MENTAL HEALTH places in their neighborhoods or any outreach programs.,
And let's not forget the biggest interference of all . The BIG GIANT FUNDIE push to outlaw PLANNED PARENTHOOD in every city and state in this country.
Where was your outrage then? Why were you shoving some artery clogging food in your big fat face then in outrage over their freedom?
In conclusion YOU'RE FULL OF SHIT. Those people were out there because it combined their two favorite things--An excuse to eat a lot of fast food garbage and sticking it to Gay people.
- R51 is kind of a moron.
- Gay men run both Days and GH? No wonder why they both are unwatchable! DOOL and GH has never been so bad as they are right now!
- GH is shocking because since Frank Valentini took over, hair, makeup and wardrobe are the worst they've ever been. He's a micromanager and makes all of the decisions, so it's all on him.
I've never known a gay man to have such terrible taste. The GH actresses have never looked worse. I know their wardrobe isn't cheap, but everything looks like it came from K-Mart.
He also insists on long hair extensions, so they all look like they're wearing a mismatched long fringe on the bottom of their hair.
- Ron Carlivati's contrived, juvenile, cartoonish writing for OLTL and now GH just insults characters, couples and the fans. RC/FV are the worse thing to happen to GH. The gays ruined ATWT, GL, OLTL and AMC. And no doubt they will ruin GH and DOOL too.
- The hair extensions on Y&R are totally out of control, too.
- GH has overused hair extensions for a while, but they used to look more natural. At least they matched the actresses' hair. Now they don't match and they are obviously artificial.
I was told FV got rid of GH's makeup and hair people and brought in his own who cost less. They should not be paid at all because GH's hair and makeup is terrible.
GH's actresses always played a large part in selecting their characters' wardrobes. Now FV does all the choosing and he has no taste. It's all about cheap and flashy, polyester heaven.
- EDITOR!
Cheryl
- I believe in the freedom of speech of all people, liberals and conservatives, pro-gay marriage and those against it.
- [quote]But when the GOVERNMENT threatens to prohibit a business from expanding into certain areas because of its religious or social stance, then there is a real constitutional problem.
Integration makes R51's skin burn.
- R69 = Cheryl Stansbury, who was killed off on GH.
- r2, that was a beautifully written article. I have a facebook friend who fits in that exact category. I think I'll try to get her to read it
- R73, if you think the title is off putting, there is a copy of the same essay with a different title:
http://citizen-40.tressugar.com/Tempest-Over-More-Than-Chicken-Sandwich-24270734
- How do we contact Days of our Lives?
- Lick my hairy twat.
- You know the GH wardrobes aren't what they used to be. I swear I've seen some of the same clothes in Kohl's and Old Navy.
- R62, you make the most common fallacy in this kind of argument - "Yeah, it may be bad, but, the other side does it more/first/with gusto!"
The government officials who sought to make policy forbidding CFA stores based on the personal opinions of Cathy/CFA were wrong to do so, no matter how much emotionally I agree with them or how satisfying it feels or how righteous our cause otherwise. It's an abuse of power by government just as much as it is when they discriminate against us.
We win nothing by not denouncing this.
- R78, we allow ourselves to get distracted by what is essentially a non-issue. Communities make decisions all the time about what businesses to allow... they routinely block strip clubs and other "undesirable" businesses just as an example.
Don't let yourself get distracted from the actual issue at hand.
- Wasn't Scott Reeves a bisexual once?
- R79, I just had this same argument with my Dad, who went to CFA to buy sandwiches because Mike Huckabee said it was about Freedom of Speech. [sigh] I had to point out to him that this was a smokescreen to provide cover for bigoted people to express their anti-gay views (which he denied, of course).
But the tragedy of this is that these probably well-meaning politicians in Boston and Chicago gave the perfect ammunition to the haters, and unless we disavow it, it'll continue to distract "from the actual issue at hand."

- Who?
We are suppose to have freedom of speech...it's just that he obviously would discrimanate against his gay workers...workers who I'm sure the good christian man, treats like shit.
- [quote] they routinely block strip clubs and other "undesirable" businesses just as an example.
Even McDonalds
- Ultra-Christian Mrs. Reeves lived in sin with John Travolta's nephew, Tom Fridley, for quite awhile in the 80s before she met her dear husband.
- I kind of love how this thread derailed into a bitchfest over the costumes and hair weaves used on the soaps.
- Can we get back to what's important here? Jason Brooks and his horsecock and fuck skills.
- Have you seen Scott's hair lately? Horrible haircut.
- I bet she even lied to her husband about how many times she was with Brooks.
- Whatever happened to Jason Brooks? I remember he was also on an episode of Friends where he played Phoebe's massage therapy client. She bit his butt and I think she got fired or something.
- Was Brooks married when the affair went on?
I don't watch soaps. I prefer the real life drama.
- I wonder if she ever unblocks and peeks at the tweets she's been getting. Is she willfully clueless enough not to figure out that she's being pegged for the hypocrite she is?
- Dear [r30]
Truly dumb on your part to assume that we don't realize how nefarious Corporate America is. This is not our first day at the rodeo.

Yes, Brooks was married when it all happened.
- Jason Brooks and his wife also remained married after his indiscretion.
- Reeves had a quickie abortion not long after getting caught and before she went before her congregation, too.
- I don't know who she is. But I went to some other sites just to see what other people outside of DL/Gay sites think about this Chick-Fil-A thing, never again. There are some sick, angry, hateful, disgusting, freaks in this world. And they are calling this a victory and ridiculing the kiss-in. I was hoping that they were all trolls, but I know that they weren't. They were serious.
- She sounds like she's a scamp, a camp and a bit of a tramp.
- R88, Scott's hair looks like a toupee to me.
- [r100] Progeny of parents who are very closely related and who are fused to their couches because of immobility.
- I didn't know about the abortion. So was it Jason's kid or was she just not sure.
- Why are you all so mean to Missy? She's just darling and loves everyone. She's misunderstood. You're all so quick to jump on the hater bandwagon.
Jeanne%20Cooper
- So, what makes you better than the people on the right? Just because she has a different opinion on this issue, that happens to correspond with a huge percentage of people, you say awful, hateful things about her. Sounds like there is a lot of hate coming from people who claim to be against bigotry.
- is Scott Reeves a Republican?
Victoria%20Newman
- FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE SHIT IN MY MOUTH!!!!

- Right. Like I'm going to be shamed by a whore who openly cheated on her husband with her co-star, and then gave up said co-star's baby for adoption. HYPOCRITE!
HDK
- Wait, she had the co-star's baby??? This is the first time I heard that part of the story.
Anonymous
- if she really did have the co stars baby, it must be about time for her to come back, worm her way into Melissa's family and sleep her husband for revenge....
Caroline Benson
- So how much did she have to pay Corday Productions, when they sued her for breech of contract?
- [quote]So, what makes you better than the people on the right?
Well, for starters we don't hold any prejudices we want to see enacted as law.
You can make the retarded, false equivalency argument all you want, but at the end of the day you don't see gays running around trying to withdraw rights from fundies. Period.
- What exactly went down that was in the lawsuit about Melissa's affair with Jason?
- See R17 for all the details, R118.
- WHET to Jason Brooks? He was a cutie. I bet he regrets slipping his sausage into that crazy snatch.
- I thought for a second it was Melissa Rivers
- I do think Melissa is hypocritical because ofd her adultery but if I was Scott Reeves,I wouldn't have threatened to take the kids.you can be a bad spouse but a good parent.Look at Bill Clinton.Plus.Why should Missy have had to confess in front of a whole church? They should have handled that privately, considering they're both public figures. As for Chick Fil-a,the owner is entitled to his opinion and that is HIS opinion, not everyone who works for him,but it was very bad business to publicly express it.A restaurant gets all kinds of customers and comments like that can cost you business. As long as gays aren't having orgies in your lobby, keep you opiions to yourself ,or they just might make out in your lobby!!Also,I wonder how Melissa Reeves' co-stars in the gay storyline feel about her opinions.
Jett
- [quote]So, what makes you better than the people on the right?
That we ARE right, and you are WRONG. On this issue and every other civil rights issue of the last half century. R106, you seem more concerned with the hurt feelings of bigots than the real life discrimination, prejudice and inequality that gay Americans face every single day. You come whine to me when you can't marry your spouse, can't get on his work benefits, can't file a joint tax return, and spend every single day surrounded by people who probably think you're a sex freak at best, and an abomination worthy of death at worst.
