This show sucks and should have wrapped up a long time ago.
Is this hopefully going to be the last season?
I heard a merlin cartoon is in the works and a movie trilogy
How can that be, R3? It's a terrible show.
A terrible show that alot of people watch
R5, it's not very well-known. Who is watching it?
It's not a famous show like Doctor Who.
Some of us have horrible taste, R2, R4, and R5. We don't have your superior artistic perception, and we're happy with our simple fare.
Hot guys, a classic story that has withstood the test of many centuries, and hot guys. It works for those of us who aren't brilliant enough to get Sondheim.
they have about the same ratings ..and its syndicated to almost every country worldwide
It's successful enough for BBC (thanks to foreign licensing fees).
What is the UK start date?
In other words, when can I scan the torrents and mirror sites?
ughh cant wait that long
Merlin IS famous. It is the biggest fantasy series worldwide.
Season 4 had more than twice as many viewers in the US as Doctor Who's latest season. Also while DW is sold to 50 countries, Merlin airs in 180 which is quite impressive.
R20 i know right HATE merlin but to deny how massive it is ,is Just preposterous
r21, from what language did you Google-translate your response?
Didn't the creators originally say they envisioned Merlin as a 5-series show, making this the last series? Of course, if it's a cash cow for the BBC they might break that rule and extend it.
Don't know what to expect this season - the first half of season 4 was great, but was kinda uneven by the end. If they continue the "Arthur never finds out and gets conked out every time Merlin uses magic" plotlines, that's going to get really really old - it's been 4 years (even longer within the show's timeline, since they jump ahead); advance the plot already and have Arthur find out and go into the fallout from it.
I'm glad it's beginning to air soon, because after this Monday I'm not going to have Teen Wolf to watch anymore (it's been serving as my "supernatural / hot guys / homoerotic slash tension" fix for the summer).
So will Season 5 run first on SyFy in the US, delayed by many months like the last few seasons? Or on BBC America, which has picked up the back catalog, and could run it close to original airdate like it does "Dr Who"?
I am looking forward to more "Merlin." And yes, more shirtless Arthur and hot hot Gwain.
Don't forget that comely Percival above...
Looks like the Merlin troll is back again. We seem to get one of these threads every year at this time.
Can't stand this show. I really hope this is the last season. It is awful and it is definitely not the biggest fantasy show in the world, nor does it get twice as many viewers as Doctor Who. It also doesn't get the type of acting nominations that Doctor Who does.
r37, so this is your last post in this thread?
What need you say more?
September 30th is upon us!
I think the premiere is actually October 6 (the September 29 date was floating around for a while, but I think the BBC confirmed it'll be October 6 instead).
Glad I bumped.
The series is kind of bland. The edgiest bit about it is the bromantic comedy between Merlin, Arthur and the other knights.
A couple of days ago on UK's Sky TV the also bland series (but with a hot looking lead) Sinbad finished its first season.
Seems like bland gets you the biggest ratings, because it appeals to most people and doesn't offend most of the rest (well, except the ones who complain about Merlin's Arthur being shirtless too often).
I think it is a throw back to pure escapist fare. It is not high art, but it is nice to have a series that doesn't feel it needs to be dark and edgie and you can sit back and let your mind go relax and enjoy.
r42, it's a Soap Opera in slow motion.
It isn't supposed to be Star Wars.
How is this show still on the air? It is so bad and boring.
I loves ya tomorrow,
you're only a day a way!!!
Ahhhh, the return of Mordred!
And, yes, Morgana remains a cunt!
Is Mordred the Key?
What's with G&P in the cave and the blue alien looking creature?
Percival looks ducky sleeping as I imagine him in the morning...
I streamed a RUSSIAN link; we live in wondrous times.
"Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it ... You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"
We are switching to the new platform for The DataLounge this weekend. All of our mobile users have been using it for over a week and all first time users have been using it for about a month - which adds up to well over one million users. So we're ready to end this phase of the testing and move everybody to the new site. (more)
And yes, we've changed the look and some of how it operates.
Yes, we know you just *hate* it in well in advance.
Yes, we know we suck.
Yes, we are the biggest suckers that ever sucked.
But it was time for a change and with the huge shift to mobile it was long overdue. We've taken this opportunity not only to update the look but also make major changes under the hood (or "bonnet" if you're either British or pretentious or both). And we have to prepare for 2016 - a presidential election year where we can normally expect to see a 60% jump in traffic (yes, we've seen 5 presidential elections so far…Christ we're old).
The site has a bunch - nay, plethora - of new features which will make the site more usable: better search, the ability to ignore posters and threads, see link previews, to pick up a thread where you left off, spam and malware filtering and more.
If you want you can go explore and see for yourself, Click here.
And while running the tests we've noticed two interesting reactions to the new system - people are spending more time on the site and more people that come stay around longer and look at more stuff. Both good things. Yay!
Possibly we've not slain all the dragons and there will be issues that come up during the switchover. There's a help button in the lower right hand corner of the page which you can use to send us bug reports.
Please include as much information about the hardware (PC, Mac, Tablet, Phone etc), operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS etc) and browser (Chrome, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer etc) that you are using as possible to help us replicate and fix the problem.
Please note that complaints about colors, fonts, icons and the like are not "bugs" - they are design choices that we've made and we expect one or two cases of world-class bitching. But they won't actually cause headaches, scurvy, heart attacks, Restless Leg Syndrome, Morgellon's Disease or the vapors (but have your smelling salts at hand just in case).
Talking to DataLounge servers. Please wait a moment...
