- she's too pretty to hang around those people.
- Cobie is gorgeous, especially in the early seasons. Ashley Williams, who played Victoria in season 1 and this past season is also gorgeous.
- She was also in the Avengers.
- I agree OP. Many times while watching I just looked at her and thought, "Wow, she's breathtaking" .. then I'd forget what was happening in the scene. And I'm a gay guy!
- Particularly in the first season, Cobie reminded me of a young Jennifer Connelley.

- One thing that bothered me last season on HIMYM was the length of her hair, it was all wrong. She (or they?) shortened it a bit so now it is above her shoulders but not touching. It looks sort of lifeless and unfinished, like a hack job. I hope she (they?) let it grow out a bit more or else cut some layers into it to give it some body.
Do sitcom actresses have the ability to just cut/dye their hair however they see fit? Or, is it built into their contract in some way?
- I love Robin!
She was terrible in The Avengers. Great movie, but she was awful.
- Her skin and bone structure is fucking flawless. Her mouth, nose, her figure.. everything. A real definition of a "natural beauty".

- I agree, R9, but that's a bad picture of her.
- True R10, but a bad photo of her with minimal makeup is still better than most starlets fully made up.
- Cobie looks so much better with longer hair. She also looks better when she carries a few more pounds like she did in the early seasons.
- Another pic

- I think she's even more telegenic than she is photogenic, actually.
- And then there's the kiss.
http://images.wikia.com/himym/images/e/e4/Lily-robin-kiss.jpg
- She is gorgeous. I first noticed her in her short stint on The L Word.
- That was about the same time that HIMYM started, or maybe a year before.
- I've never thought of her as gorgeous, but certainly prettier than Alyson Hannigan. I once saw her on Conan or maybe Jimmy Fallon, and she was very likable. Plus she used to model. Moved to NY when she was a teenager and lived in Italy I think in her late teens/early 20s. She also has a kid with Taran Killam from SNL, which I found surprising because I thought Killam was fairly young. He has a bit of a baby face, but apparently he's in his 30s as well. And speaking of SNL... Bill Hader's pretty sexy. Go figure.
- Cobie just turned 30.
- Wait - what part did she play on The L Word??
- She is L Word in real life, no?
- She's completely unremarkable looking, with a completely forgettable face, and not an iota of "it" factor.
Some of you have extremely low standards for beauty.
- Very pretty.
- [20] Leigh Ostin, the sculptor of the scary glass mobiles. Bette hit on her unsucessfully (!), and she was later with Helena. It was the only character in all six seasons that I thought was "do-able."
- LOL @ R22 who seems to think *he* is the be all end all critic when it comes to what is beautiful.
Perhaps you have forgotten that all of us have different opinions.
If we all had the exact same view on who we thought was attractive, only about 1% of us would ever get laid.
Gosh, it cracks me up how we can all share our *opinions*, and an asshole like R22 comes along to tell us how wrong we are and how our standards are low. We may have different opinions, but I would be a prick and knock everyone else.
So glad I don't know you in real life.
- I like her okay on the show, but she's a bit man-faced and horsey. Much like Jennifer Connelly and Brooke Shields, it's more noticeable as she ages.
Remember back when people talked about how pretty Maria Shriver was? Beware the curse of the horse-faced brunette.
- There are moments when she is made up, lit correctly and the camera angle makes her just stunningly beautiful and moments when she looks horsey and just plain jane. The episode (and any flashback) of Ted seeing her across the crowd at McClaren's is gorgeous, most of this season not so much.
The episode where she talks to her kids about how she met their father was pretty heart-wrenching but she still didn't look very good.
- R26 - you may be right, but for now Cobie is beautiful. I do think she should allow herself to gain a few pounds to keep from looking haggard.
- Clip of Cobie on The L Word, appearing with Jennifer Beals.

- I thought she was so beautiful the first couple of seasons, but lately she doesn't look her best. Whether it's just aging, being too thin, or unflattering hair/makeup/costuming choices, I dunno.
- I'm only on season 2 and she's very thin already. The fact that she's even thinner now is a bit frightening.
- Cobie Smulders might slow down when "How I Met Your Mother" goes off the air to become a full time mother but I believe she will act on occassion.
- She was born to play Wonder Woman in the reboot.
- Season 1 Cobie, could be WW (with a padded bra). Season 7 or 8, Cobie not as much.
- R30 is right.
- Cobie just got married.
http://www.complex.com/girls/2012/09/how-i-met-your-mother-star-cobie-smulders-marries-snl-comedian-taran-killam
- He's definitely punching above his weight. I hope he has a good personality and is more than adequate in bed.
- yeah, he definitively married up.
- She's pretty. No Farrah Fawcett, though.
- R39 - actually Farrah wasn't all that beautiful. Pretty, but Jaclyn outshone her, and Cheryl Ladd was more appealing and attractive.
Plus, Farrah and Cobie aren't really the same type.
- As they say, R40, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right. You don't think Farrah was all that. I think she was gorgeous, and sweet, silly, vulnerable, sort of like Marilyn Monroe (which you don't see much at all anymore). Cobie is extremely pretty, but from what I've seen of her on that show, there's no vulnerability, no sweetness. She looks like she's sleep with you and steal your credit cards on the way out of your apartment the next morning. Again, it's all in the eye of the beholder. BTW, I think Jaclyn was/is a gorgeous woman. I thought all of the four original Angels were beautiful, just different in their own ways.
- R41 - "Cobie is extremely pretty, but from what I've seen of her on that show, there's no vulnerability, no sweetness. "
Actually, I disagree. Cobie's character Robin shows a good deal of vulnerability and heart. That's one of the main reasons why the show works. Cobie also showed vulnerability in The L Word.
- [quote]She looks like she's sleep with you and steal your credit cards on the way out of your apartment the next morning
Wow. I've never seen her character on the show, but I don't get that at all from her pictures.
- OK, R42. You may be right. I watched A LOT of "How I Met Your Mother" over the years (a friend would force me to watch it with him). I never liked any of the characters. And I thought Cobie's character was really cold to Ted, Barney, all of them, really. I know in recent seasons, they have tried to soften her up, but I don't buy it. But that's me. If you like her and the show, that's great. Honestly! There are so few shows worth watching on TV right now it's good to find one you like. I just never liked those characters, that's all.
- When will the Ted character come out of the closet and we find out the "mother" is just his husband? Not particularly believable as the straight stud with all these women. Of course, in real life, the kids would have shot him by now after all these meaningless stories about his failures in his love life.
- R45 - Ted's the least interesting character. I am looking forward to the return of Victoria, however.
- She reminds me of Terry Farrell, the actress who played Jadzia Dax on Star Trek. Looks like Iam not the only one who got that idea.
http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/jadzia-dax%3Fbefore%3D1338491174
- Yes, r47, a little like Terry Farrell. I also see a good deal of the young Jennifer Connelly.
- I agree that Ted is a loser and it beggared belief that Robin ever would have dated him more than once.
- He was less of a loser earlier in the show.
- Ted's a pussy. When he was whipped by that bitch Zoey, his character lost all credibility.
- I find her husband Taran Killam so hot, despite his babyface.
- He pings to high heaven.

- Season premier on Monday.
What kind of name is Taran?
- R55, it's so weird to see an actress with normal looking arms. Most of them now either have scary skinny arms, or they are too muscled.
I actually read about some castings for period piece movies and tv that they sometimes had trouble because so many actresses looked so "worked out", which is not the look for most time periods before the 1980's.
- R57 - Yes, Ashley has nice looking arms. I think she's a bit slimmer now than she was when she appeared last season.
- She actually looks very horrible now with that new haircut seen in all the promos. It's like a puffed-out bob with bangs but long. She looks like a 40-something PTA mom.
- I really thought that SNL guy (her new husband) was gay.
The older I get, the more busted my gaydar is.
- [quote] What kind of name is Taran?
Scotch/Irish. He's a mick from both sides.
Tilda%20Swinton
- R61 - I would have guessed German.
- Cobie grew out her hair and put on a few pounds, looking good in the second episode. I liked the part of Robin being turned on by watching herself in the news,
- She looks stunning in this behind the scenes look with NPH.
http://www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DHjK3dLMzk4g
- She reminds me of Alex McLeod
- I'd like to see Cobie take the lead in a sitcom after HIMYM.
