Sylvester Stallone's son found dead at Hollywood home
"We don't know any of the details but it must have been some sort of tragic accident. He was full of life and working on projects," Braunstein said. "He wasn't at all depressed or anything like that."
Braunstein said he believed that Sylvester Stallone was returning to Los Angeles from the Comic Con pop culture convention in San Diego.
I don't think so, R7.
Reports would have said that; kid looked sad, though.
Sad I'm calling someone who's 36 a kid.
Did he take 2 grams of Ativan and wonder why nothing was happening to him?
His body was discovered by his maid or his girlfriend. Seems like he was fucking the maid. What a scumbag.
Sage played Rockys kid in Rocky V. His had screen time with his dad in Daylight.
Hes always been a little disturbed. I met him many times in his teens and he had a volcanic temper and highly developed drug dependency. Plus he had a very difficult relationship with his dad and for some bizarre reason detested his Uncle Frank too. SAD.
The most shocking thing about this is that OP's link is to reuters.
I've grown so accustomed to TMZ capitalizing on this type of tragedy.
His full name was Sage Moonblood Stallone. He is survived by his brother Seargeoh Stallone and by his half-sisters Sistine, Sophia, and Scarlett Stallone.
He looks suicidally depressed in every picture that comes up on Google Image search, but that may just have been the shape of his eyes.
I've heard that Frank is easy to hate.
NYPost is reporting he died on an overdose. Unclear whether it was accidental or a suicide.
Oh my God, dial it down, Grief Nazi at r19.
I somehow seriously doubt Jackie Stallone or Brigitte Nielsen are surfing Datalounge tonight.
But you knew that, right? You just get your jollies scolding people.
Indeed, the guy at the link is very handsome, r22. But that's Milo Ventimiglia--he's misidentified at the link as Sage Stallone, who was not nearly so handsome.
Thanks for the correction, R24
OMG, I loved him on Heroes.
That was Milo Ventimiglia as well..
I hope I get misidentified as Milo Ventimiglia when I die too. He's hot.
Is he the one who beat up Alexis B and Hayden P?
He looked like a Cro-Magnon Donny Osmond.
Any pics of his dead feet, in flip flops?
someone was run over by a car
They'll use him for the Thanksgiving stuffing this year. Heard they farted out taps in his honor.
The biggest asshole in this thread is R10. Wtf?
Why don't you go hang out at the Toys R Us website and finger yourself while browsing the Hello Kitty merchandise.
This is not surprising to anyone who followed Sage's career. I read an interview with Sage 6 or 7 years ago when he made Chaos (a movie Roger Ebert regretted seeing with a rare zero stars rating) and he was really fucked up then. Scary shit. It's sad that no one around him noticed this.
This is not surprising to anyone who followed Sage's career.
In other words, we're all surprised.
If he detested Frank then I'll assume Far From Over was not on his iPod.
Are there any photos of him after 2006? None seem to be around, even though he was living in Hollywood and still in show biz (albeit on the fringes.)
And what's with his lawyer who can't stop yapping? Bizarre all the inane quotes from him in the AP article.
R42: Brigitte and Mummy Jackie detested each other during the marriage and B blamed J for the divorce.
Years later they were reunited infront of the cameras when Celebrity Big Brother surreptitiously cast Jackie Stallone as some kind of mole in the House. The look on Brigittes face when she found out ----- most epic Big Brother moment ever.
Sage pulled a 'Judy Garland'
(minus the talent, of course.)
Well, at least he outlived his career by several decades. How many film stars can say that?
He can't say it. He's dead.
This is not surprising to anyone who followed Sage's career.
He had a career? More people have heard of Frank Ocean than this guy
Link from another thread. TMZ saying he was dead for at least 3 days and had been depressed, reclusive and living in squalor. The housekeeper who found him was checking on him at his mother's request.
The remarks made by the lawyer (linked in r40) about how happy and successful he was seem even creepier under the circumstances.
Sylvester Stallone himself is a very strange man. He reputedly will not let his household staff look him in the eye even now--they still have to turn away from his gaze in his houses.
He's been a pussy hound his entire life. He met Brigitte Nielsen when she sent her 8 and a half by 11" bodyshot photo to him, as if she were serving herself. Of course, not only did he fuck her, he married her.
I remember back when his kids with the first wife were born there were magazine articles about her being into numerology - that's the reason for the weird spelling of Seargeoh. Yes, I'm old.
I remember back when his kids with the first wife were born there were magazine articles about her being into numerology - that's the reason for the weird spelling of Seargeoh.
There's no better reason than that for spelling a name!
It's pretty obvious that Stallone didn't give a shit about his son.
Does Stallone have any contact with Sergei(sp?) the other son? Doesn't he have Down's?
Sad how these kids of celebrities seem to lack any direction in their life...even before the drugs?
r60 - He's autistic. No idea how involved Stallone is with him.
R60 Believe it or not, Sly made sure to provide very well for his oldest child because of the profundity of his oldest child's autism. His mother is the main person with all of that and their child (who is easily in his late thirties by now) will be formally tended to for life. That is one thing I cannot snark on with Sly.
Didn't he have a kid with Janice Dickinson?
Wow -- Walter Mercado rolled a giant sage-filled doob in his honor!
Sage was his oldest child. His autistic son is 33.
r64 - Sorta, but no. She was sleeping with Stallone (and a couple others) when she became pregnant and thought the baby was his for a minute until the DNA tests came back.
Is someone going to start a "What was on his IPOD" thread?
that's the reason for the weird spelling of Seargeoh.
What name is that an alternate spelling for?
He was hot too.
Who was his mom?
Hold on. You haven't heard from your kid in three days, you're worried, so you send a HOUSEKEEPER over to check on him?
With a mother like that, no wonder he was on drugs.
It's not THAT sad, except for his immediate family. And friends, if he had any. He was the child of a Hollywood star who probably lived a life of indulgence and never really had to work a day in his life.
He was obviously deeply mentally ill. Didn't anyone who knew him know that and urge him to get help? Or was he just left alone with his demons? Or did he refuse help? Who knows? At any rate, it's a pity. There he was, the son of Sylvester Stallone, and he ends up living in squalor and dying alone and nobody even notices for days. I guess being the offspring of a big-name movie star (well, Stallone used to be) isn't paradise itself, as so many people seem to think it is.
I think this says more about Stallone and his former wife/mother of Sage than anything else. They sent the housekeeper to seek him out. Their concern was overwhelming.
After years of dealing with someone who has heavy mental health or addiction issues, people often resign themselves to maintenance activity -- having the housekeeper check. The kid had probably withdrawn many times before and stayed alive.
A sad story and I am sure the parents will be asking themselves what they should have done differently.
His mother lives in Florida or some place. She was never Hollywood, remember she hooked up with Sly years before the first Rocky. Of course once he made it big, he cheated on her repeatedly and quite publicly, then ditched her.
Anyway, she would not have physically been able to check in on him as she was not in the same City.
that is the best comment on here... bwaahhahaha
Do your parents monitor your life on a daily basis r74? He was 36! Even if his family were gravely concerned about his welfare, there's only so much you can do for an adult who might not even have wanted help.
Meanwhile, that creepy lawyer keeps giving interviews to entertainment media about how happy Sage was.
I know, creepy lawyer...was Sage really getting married or had his girlfriend dumped him? Wouldn't his mother have called his girlfriend to check on him if he was really engaged? As usual, the story is a lie and a coverup. That's Hollywood for you.
"Do your parents monitor your life on a daily basis "
If I was depressed yes.
No clue, R80. Depressed people often lash out at being "supervised" and withdraw even further. It's not an easy situation to deal with at all.
"According to TMZ, the filmmaker 'lived like Howard Hughes' in a room 'littered with junk' - and his body could have laid cold for as long as a week."
Also from TMZ:
I personally knew Sage for very well for about 10 years being his next door neighbor back in 2002 (not his current house ) and 99% of whats posted hereabout him couldn't be further from the truth .
Sage was not close to his father at all and alienated after Sly divorced his mom . His new family became all that mattered according to Sage .
Sage was fighting his demons as long as I knew him ( vicodin / norco ) and wouldn't let anyone help him because it was not out of control etc . denial etc .
Sage had very few friends and was lonely guy and a loner with the exception of a few people in the ent. biz .
This is a tragedy that had the writing on the wall for well over 10 years.
ANYONE around him knew of his demons except his family . None of his friends that I knew encouraged or enabled this behavior.
If his dad bothered to give Sage any love or thought into his life this would have never happened .
Sage told me he was raised by maids , nannies , and gardeners as his dad was never there always away making movies . This made him forever sad .
Im sure his dad is devastated but when it was time to be there for him and be a father it's the sad truth he was never there .
I will miss my friend dearly and hope that other celebs think about their children first & career second .
R.I.P. Sage Moonblood Stallone
R72, you are very strange.
It is not unusual at all not to have communication between a grown adult and his/her mother for three days.
Three days is a miniscule amount of time.
Grown adults and their parents often do not communicate for several or even many weeks or several months.
The dead son's mother and Sly Stallone were only married to each other for 10 years.
R80, you are crazy.
My brother, age 60, has been depressed his whole life. It is not the norm to have constant (or even frequent) contact between adult children and mothers - especially when they live in different states.
And even when the adult person is depressed.
What crazy momma's boys on this thread who lack all common sense. Mothers often have little contact with adult children - and may only have contact every few weeks or even months.
I'm sure he was a real winner, just like his father. Crying as I type this.
Trying to have a career in your father's line of work is often so futile when the line of work is acting or film.
Why not gain job skills in another line of work and stop trying to follow your father.
This is similar to Michael Douglas' son who was/is an addict and in federal prison.
Why not gain job skills in another line of work and stop trying to follow your father.
Because it kind of worked out OK for Mike Douglas himself.
Sage was dead for at least three or four days -- maybe as long as a week -- before his body was found in his Los Angeles home.
When the death occurred isn't clear because no one had spoken to him since last Friday and he was living like a hermit.
Was the body bloated? Did it stink? I want answers!
This is quite a different picture.
Sage didn't even drink," the attorney, who knew the son of Sylvester Stallone socially and professionally for more than 15 years, tells PEOPLE. "There was a report that his room was filled with liquor bottles. Actually, they were empty bottles of Dr. Brown's Cream Soda."
Where is his fiance? He was engaged and they don't talk to each other daily?
Why do these families bother to lie when they know there will be toxicology tests? Whitney's family did the same thing.
r95 - That's the creepy lawyer who won't shut up.
Sage had two movie companies, Moonblood Pictures and Grindhouse Releasing, which restores and preserves B-movies.
A rep for the LAPD said that officers went to Sage’s home for a “welfare check” when friends couldn’t get in touch with him and asked cops to investigate. Police say the case has now been referred to the Los Angeles coroner.
There seem to be contradicting reports on whether the housekeeper found him after his mother asked her to check, or whether police found him after friends contacted them.
"There was a report that his room was filled with liquor bottles. Actually, they were empty bottles of Dr. Brown's Cream Soda."
Maybe he OD'd on sugar
R36 .... you're joking, right ?? That is actor Milo Ventimigliablahblahblah (whatever his name is)
But if he had undiagnosed diabetis, he could have gone into a coma? It is a possibility.
[bold] Officials: Autopsy Complete on Sylvester Stallone's Son [/bold]
STUDIO CITY, Calif. (KTLA) -- Coroners officials said an autopsy has been completed on Sage Stallone, the oldest son of actor Sylvester Stallone, but his cause of death is still pending.
The autopsy was completed Sunday morning, but toxicology results could take weeks. Officials have said there were no signs of foul play at the scene and several reports indicated prescription pill bottles were found in his home. A security hold has also been placed on his case.
Meanwhile, TMZ reported that the young Stallone may have been dead for at least three to four days before he was found by his housekeeper in his Studio City home Friday morning.
He was also reportedly living like a hermit, spending days in his room "littered with junk" without leaving.
They say he was last heard from a week ago Friday.
But a Facebook post might discredit that rumor.
"Seventeen hours before we found him he had posted something on his Facebook page," Stallone's lawyer George Braunstein said. "There's all kinds of stories swirling around, but it seems like as though he had posted something Thursday night."
Braunstein says the 36-year old "was in good spirits, and working on all kinds of projects."
"He was planning on getting married. I am just devastated. He was an extremely wonderful, loving guy. This is a tragedy."
Sage, who Sylvester, 66, had with ex-wife Sasha Czack, was best known for appearing alongside his father in "Rocky V," playing son Robert Balboa. He also appeared with his dad in 1996's film "Daylight."
An avid film connoisseur, he then moved into directing and producing.
"He was a walking film encyclopedia," Braunstein said.
The elder Stallone has been at Comic Con in San Diego promoting Lionsgate's "The Expendables 2" with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dolph Lundgren.
"Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son Sage Stallone," says a rep for the actor. "His compassion and thoughts are with Sage's mother, Sasha. Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man, his loss will be felt forever."
Lawyer's Story Doesn't Match Up with Cops
Sage Stallone's lawyer and longtime friend is painting a picture of Sage in the days leading up to his death that is radically different from what law enforcement sources are telling TMZ.
Attorney George Braunstein claims:
Sage posted pics to Facebook 17 hours before he was found dead.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Sage was dead for a minimum of 3 days (and possibly as long as a week) before his body was found. Our sources say no one had heard from him in a full week. And we're told his room was filled with cigarette butts and reeked of various smells.
Sage never exhibited any signs of drug use or addiction.
TMZ spoke with Robert Rhine, a magazine publisher who worked with Sage two months ago. He said Sage was "out of it" the entire time he worked with him and it was obvious to him and everyone at the photo shoot that Sage was on something. And our law enforcement sources say there were multiple pill bottles in his room, some of which were "huge."
Sage didn't drink.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ his room was littered with various items, including empty beer cans.
Our sources say they believe Sage's death was an accident and not intentional.
His eyes look dead in the TMZ photos.
He has his father's eyes.
I wonder if he shat himself when he died. I've heard that people shit when they die.
It's the eye of the negro
Make you kill him on site
Rising up to the challenge of our rival
Then some more words I don't know
And the thrill of the fight
Lions and tigers.
"littered with junk" without leaving.
Bed bugs got him.
Another Hollywood sacrifice. Very sad.
I thought he posted on facebook 17 hours before he died? Why would anyone think he was missing or in danger?
r113 - It's only the lawyer claiming that.
He was fucked up just like the rest of Hollywood
In due time I hope Sly Stallone beats the fuck out of that lawyer. I really do.
That lawyer has brought a rather fair amount of attention to Sage Stallone having passed. If you think about it, Sage Stallone's passing would have been a blip on the old news radar were it not for that lawyer.
Sorry for the Stallone family loss, but one of that has to shut that lawyer up by now.
Huff Po says it was NOT suicide, but stopped short of murder saying it MIGHT have been natural causes.
r116 - The scary thing about the lawyer is that his statements are being reported as facts.
Looks like the Westboro famewhore freaks are considering picketing his funeral. They're getting pretty desperate with the ambulance chasing.
^ They're picketing his funeral because he had an adulterous dad? ROFLMAO.
My dad was a cheater so I wonder if they'll show up at my funeral when I die!
His mom is now saying that he only had painkillers because he'd had 5 teeth extracted, which she'd warned him against. Not against gobbling painkillers, against getting more than one tooth extracted at a time which she thought was dangerous. (Seriously?) She sounds deeply in denial.
Reddit had a q & a session with one of Phelps' sons who escaped Westboro and is now shunned. He said the pastor beat the shit out of his wife constantly while he was growing up. The pastor is totally given over to an almost constant homicidal rage and loves to beat and intimidate his family.
r122 - What a shocker! He comes across so sane and peaceful. Funeral is tomorrow. Wonder if they'll really show? I hope they don't get any publicity if they do.
Looks like Sage was probably dealing hydrocodine (ie) vicodin. The police source is supposedly saying that Sage himself probably wasn't an addict based on the fact that he was chubby.
You know when LA says it will be two or three months for test...it is complete and total bullshit. They are owned by Hollywood agents and are hoping that the press will go away and forget, before they report cause of death.
Why would H'd agents care?
Because Stallone cares and even though Stallone's films might not make a lot of money, his attorney is probably Bert Fields and Bert works for the agencies and they run the show.
So the coroner's report says he died of a heart condition and he only had a trace amount of one prescription drug in his system.
I guess it was a coincidence his room had giant pill bottles.
Even if he smoked and had a poor diet, how does a 36 year old do enough damage to cause a fatal heart attack? I mean, without drugs factoring in.
But actually, who gives a shit? I barely give a shit about Sylvester, I really don't give a shit about his loser son.
Seriously, someone just mentioned that he died of coronery artery disease!? Why are the LA coroners always so easily bought? I think it's disgusting and the state should investigate. Stallone is a fucking loser, jerk.
Noguchi did honest coroner reports, but they forced him out of office.
"Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it ... You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"
We are switching to the new platform for The DataLounge this weekend. All of our mobile users have been using it for over a week and all first time users have been using it for about a month - which adds up to well over one million users. So we're ready to end this phase of the testing and move everybody to the new site. (more)
And yes, we've changed the look and some of how it operates.
Yes, we know you just *hate* it in well in advance.
Yes, we know we suck.
Yes, we are the biggest suckers that ever sucked.
But it was time for a change and with the huge shift to mobile it was long overdue. We've taken this opportunity not only to update the look but also make major changes under the hood (or "bonnet" if you're either British or pretentious or both). And we have to prepare for 2016 - a presidential election year where we can normally expect to see a 60% jump in traffic (yes, we've seen 5 presidential elections so far…Christ we're old).
The site has a bunch - nay, plethora - of new features which will make the site more usable: better search, the ability to ignore posters and threads, see link previews, to pick up a thread where you left off, spam and malware filtering and more.
If you want you can go explore and see for yourself, Click here.
And while running the tests we've noticed two interesting reactions to the new system - people are spending more time on the site and more people that come stay around longer and look at more stuff. Both good things. Yay!
Possibly we've not slain all the dragons and there will be issues that come up during the switchover. There's a help button in the lower right hand corner of the page which you can use to send us bug reports.
Please include as much information about the hardware (PC, Mac, Tablet, Phone etc), operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS etc) and browser (Chrome, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer etc) that you are using as possible to help us replicate and fix the problem.
Please note that complaints about colors, fonts, icons and the like are not "bugs" - they are design choices that we've made and we expect one or two cases of world-class bitching. But they won't actually cause headaches, scurvy, heart attacks, Restless Leg Syndrome, Morgellon's Disease or the vapors (but have your smelling salts at hand just in case).
Talking to DataLounge servers. Please wait a moment...
