• Somebody has SAW on the brain. R47, I'm surprised you were able to limit yourself to just ten tracks. I'm not being critical - I'm a fan too. For R26, you might be right, but you never know. For some people hearing the phrase "80's music" quickly brings to mind the records that get played often on throw-back radio (Hungry Like the Wolf, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, You Spin Me Round, Come On Eileen, West End Girls, etc.). For other people that listen to a different or a more extensive collection of older music, those aren't necessarily the first things that pop to mind. Neither is right or wrong, it's just different exposure levels that people have. It's nice to see the diversity of songs and artists and genres represented here on the thread. It's kind of interesting, but I'm not sure there is anything to be learned here.

Finally, Prince completely lost his gift as a songwriter in the early 1990s - and he never recaptured it. His output post-1992 is uniformly WEAK. Madonna went from strength to strenght for a good 20 years, until she finally lost her vision (i.e. current Madonna).
