Tina Turner - "One of the Living" performance
Rockin' song from the "Madmax: Beyond Thunderdome" soundtrack

- That's one of her best songs.
- The video ROCKS hard. Saxman Timmy Capello was one hot muscle god.

- SANDRA BERNHARD: It’s the end of the world. There’s a hundred people left in LA; I’m one of them. We’ve all taken to wearing big studded leather jackets and mohawks. We siphon gas out of cars and we eat candy bars. We don’t brush our teeth anymore and we don’t have any emotions left.
Only the strongest of the species have survived. Tina Turner is with us!
- That saxman thrusting back and forth makes me wanna take a fucking RIDE. What a wall of muscle!
- "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" doesn't get the respect it deserves. It's so much better than it has any right to be, and Tina is most of the reason why.
The Voice of the Night
- How come Tina never got any shit for her faux-British accent? Interviews from her comeback period are hilarious ...
- Tina is music royalty* She's allowed to speak with any accent she bloody well wants.
*That jealous heifer Aretha will probably take out a hit on me now.
- Dionne and Tina do PROUD MARY
Starts at 3:15

- I love how the casting director (or was it the script writer?) wanted a "Tina Turner type" for Auntie Entity.
- Well, ain't we a pair, R9?
The Voice of the Night
- That big sexy wall of muscle, Timmy Cappello, was with Tina for years. He's also an actor, and is probably most known for his cameo in the beach concert scene in "The Lost Boys". His one main dance move is that pelvic THRUST.

- God, I miss the music and videos of the 80s and 90s.

- NO thread or mention of Tina's birthday yesterday?!?!
- It's so sexy and kinky somehow that she's making pretend she's playing that guitar. The glistening sax guy is cool, I think the song is a wonderful churning rock epic. I believe it got Grammy, AMA and MTV award nods.
Well done, in my opinion.
"It's every man for himself, every woman, every child..."
- To be honest, I liked the big, bombastic orchestral part of the Beyond Thunderdome soundtrack (by Maurice Jarre) better than the Tina Turner songs. Much as I like Tina, she's musically not on the same level as the movie's score.
- Love "One of the Living" OP, and yes Happy Birthday to Ms Turner.
One of my other 'forgotten' favourite tracks in the same vein as this is "Whatever You Want" from her Wildest Dreams album. One of my favourite videos also. Apologies for the quality...

- Wow...forgot about that song! Off to iTunes!
